This one is a little more NSFW than usual.

I'd just about ruled out having Sina flaunt it, thinking it'd be hard to take her seriously if she was running around naked. But then it occurred to me, there's more to it than flaunting her sexuality. She's showing the complete absence of scarring. She's showing that she doesn't sacrifice. She doesn't do anything to justify being on top, she's just on top, and this is one of her ways of rubbing it in.

I covered her up a bit for the "censored" version of the cover, but she wouldn't really wear anything that could hide a scar.

Please come by XTIN.NET and vote for me! I'm hovering around the mid 400's and there's at least 430 badly drawn furry mangas above me that need to go down! You know what to do!

Got sidetracked by the flu for a few days. There's just no working when two minutes out of three is spent clearing out the nose again or coughing crap up again. Glad it's over.

XTIN is progressing well on TopWebComics - currently #82 in scifi and 370 overall. It's about dead even with Trent Kaniuga's Twilight Monk. Sometimes Trent's ahead, sometimes I'm ahead (I'm ahead at the moment ), but we're both coming up at the same rate so far. Considering Trent was a successful 90's artist who moved more books in the day than nearly anyone can do in 2010, and he's got advertising, and his book is g-rated and easy to follow - I couldn't be happier. I don't expect this to last - there's got to be a ceiling for a niche book like XTIN. It's amazing I held with him at all. But there it is, at least for a moment . . .

Now if you happen to prefer books where cute kids are kept in the closet and astoundingly powerful deathblows leave long red streaks across the landscape, you know what to do -

That takes care of the last of the really badly painted pages. I made a slight rewrite of the dialogue to make it clear Sina III is Sina IV's mother.

XTIN has been holding steady in the 170's on TWC for a couple of days, after briefly peaking at 77. I think in a couple months it'll have a big enough audience to stay in the top 100. If it's in the top 200 at the end of December I'll be happy. There are plenty of sucky comics above it, but at this point there are plenty of decent comics further down in the charts too. It takes time to build an audience, and XTIN is doing it a little faster than expected.

So please vote for XTIN and keep it heading in the right direction -

I wasn't planning for this to be another long, drawn out torture scene; but I need to show the O'keepa, and this is a good place for it.

So has the story become too dark or what? It's nice to see comments, love it or hate it.

Not many people voting lately -

C'mon, you guys are letting a bunch of amateur hour mangas kill me, and I've been giving you free drawings for a year Show some love for your American style comic artists before we disappear.

I've been debating whether I should do more with backgrounds, and complex design work, but I got to the end of this page and had to triple check it before noticing I'd drawn the old High Priestess with three good eyes. I've truly come to appreciate the value of an editor. I'm constantly leaving things out or drawing them differently. It may after all be wise not to make the art any more complicated. Fancy designs are great if you only have to draw them once, but if you have to do them again and again they become a big problem.

The hosting service I've been using is going out of business. I've put XTIN up on Drunk Duck -

I'll try to find a way to keep posting here, maybe using Imageshack. i haven't messed with Imageshack though and don't know if there are any issues involved with it. We'll see.

I'm going to have to take a break while I finish up a pay job. I thought I could handle both at the same time, but then I decided to go back to painting XTIN. I can draw XTIN and have time left over, but I sure can't paint like this and have time left over. Yet

I hope no one minds another switch in art direction too much. I felt like I'd run out of growing room with my line art style, and not being in color was hurting the comic's growth. I felt like the next few pages could be really top notch horror, and I wanted a more cinematic look for them. So I figured out a way to do it. I'm pretty excited about this style. It's not as time consuming as the earlier painted pages, it's tighter, and I've got a few ideas about how I can make it better and faster. And it just looks right for once

BTW I started posting XTIN on Smackjeeves, which has gotta be boy love manga central. Holy crap, it's humbling and disturbing to see so many boy love mangas, and they'll get a hundred fans by the third page. I've got 11 after posting 12 pages. Yikes.
