    Default Special Ops

What's up everyone this is my first challenge I'm attempting to do and I'm looking forward to seeing everyone elses characters as well. I don't have any concept art for my character but I want to create a special ops character that was experimented on like in the movie Universal Soldier. I'm starting with a base mesh that I got from a book that I can't remember the name of but Scott Spencer was the author. I have a couple of phases of my model already that I started yesterday so I'll post the different stages.

Here's the first pass of the base mesh, at this stage I was still trying to figure out what type of body I wanted him to have.

Here's another pass I did last night after looking at the anatomy I decided to go with a comic type style of body while still maintaining some realistic proportions. I didn't want the muscles to get out of hand like you would see with most comic characters.

Here's the most recent one I spent an additional two hours between this model and the last version. I beefed up his legs a bit but really didn't add a lot of detail because his legs weren't going to be seen. I going to use his legs more as a template for his pants. I'm still not quite sure if I want a lot of the upper body shown or not so I just added detail where I thought necessary.

Right now I'm struggling to get the hands to look the way I want them to. The fingers look like something that would be on a alien. Unfortunately the pose tool is giving me a little trouble, if anyone has had any success with using it please let me know.

Here's the most recent update, I'm trying to flesh out the face and give it a grundge look to him. I still need to work on the hands and feet. I'm also still having problems with the pose tool it's really not that accurate and easy to deal with.

I finished up the face and I worked in the hands and feet but I really didn't spend that much time on the two. With the hands I plan on having some gloves on him so I wasn't going to go in to any detail.

Could anyone give me any type of advice on what I might need to work on before I take him into Maya or Max to retopologize and add clothes and weapons?

I used a couple of different stencils that I downloaded off the community and used the opacity setting to vary the strength of the wrinkles and skin. I'm almost ready to start loading him up with plenty of accessories and guns. Please give and comments or critiques, I still have a lot to learn.

Here's an update with my model wearing a wife beater. The base mesh was done in Maya by making the model live and using the create polygon tool to make the mesh fit his body. I haven't done any of the detailed wrinkles yet I just wanted to get the overall form of the shirt on the model done right now. Please leave any comments or critiques they are more than welcomed.

Here's a couple of shots of the wife beater and jeans. Still not quite where they need to be but it's a start. I just used the material and added color to it just as a place holder to give me an idea what type of color I will want to use.
