And now for our next ILLUSTRATED Activity....

PINOCCHIO

Once there was a lonely woodcutter named Geppetto--who dreamed of having a boy of his own. So one day he carved a boy out of wood and named him Pinocchio. When the puppet comes to life, it's Geppetto's dream come true. Except Pinocchio turns out to be not such a nice boy after all. Pinocchio enjoys nothing better than creating mischief and playing mean tricks. As he discovers, being bad is much more fun than being good. For a while, anyway. Happily for Pinocchio, he will learn that there is much more to being a real boy than having fun.

Guidelines:
- Wrap Around Book Cover Layout. (Title Design is optional)
- Working file can be any size you want, finals to be no wider than 1000 pixels and no larger than 500k (you can include detail shots if you want).
- Any media and style is accepted (traditional, digital, or mixed).
- Post FINAL image in FINALS THREAD (to be posted later).
- The characters and world are open to your interpretation.
- Please create new artwork for this challenge.
- Bonus: one b&w chapter spot illustration.

Please don't keep everything secret, working on your image in private only to post it at the very last hour as a surprise. The point of sharing sketches and work in progress material is so everyone can learn from each other, receive crits, compliments and improve their skills in a classroom/workshop like environment. Please be open to receiving crits, or mock ups of your work, as we are all here to participate, grow, have fun, and enjoy what each activity has to offer.

Round closes @ 11PM Pacific Standard Time, Sunday, November 21st

Composition... this is awesome cause I plan on doing a series on how fairytales would "REALLY" end... and in this version... Geppetto creates Pinocchio but then, finds a new women... and they create a family together... and Pinocchio is... well... stronger for it

Very good job with Geppetto, but i don't know if liked the pinocchio's anatomy so humanized
Very cool the layout like a HQ!

this looks like a great jam to be... so i'm throwing my hat in... this is where i'm at for now... i used the Pinocchio from that movie a little while back, the real one... but i will probably change it... i just needed a reference for somewhere to begin.'

its kinda boring.. may change it up a bit.

So I thought I could portray all the main characters as wooden toys / models -- probably been done before but whatever XD going to try and infuse symbolism , because if i learned anything in school is how to BS symbolism ^^

2 sketches so far cause I got other stuff that needs doing!

Some more sketches based on the original characters ( Really loved reading the original by the way , gets the message across a lot better then the Disney one lol "If you dont liston to your parents your life is going to be sh!t and you're going to DIE" )

I'll probably just focus on these for now, don't think i can fit much more in.

Exciting stuff going on in here.
ionic - promising start man, I like your dynamic collage layout!
Inkkchn - This is great, we can really see how your working out the puppets movement! You might want to save smaller size files for the web, around 1000 pixels is pretty good, also when your attaching your image use the green paperclip to insert it into the thread.
Lapada - Really enjoying your take on the characters, look forward to how you put them all together.
Santana - Looking good! A sleeved Gepetto, quite original.

srj - Nice work, I like the town layout!
Felicia - Good stuff, silhouette #4 and #8 have a nice read. Looking forward to more development!
