well, i opened up my internets today and there's THREE replies to my thread - that's a new personal best! thanks for the comments chaps!

and yes, it's criminal that the mannequin figure isn't available for purchase....BAH!

A lot of things going on this month, but sadly not as much of it art related as it should be.

Still there was a little activity in that area, so here's what happened

Headruary!
My mission to learn/relearn some of the basics continues in earnest, the picture below is what i've managed to do since starting

But thats not it! Work picked up copies of a new series of gnomon dvds which look like they could be pretty useful, so looking forward to seeing how they go.

I managed to finish off another sketchbook, first one of the year, and so for no other reason than to show i've been doing SOMETHING here's some of the er, highlights from the last few pages

I even took one of the sketches above and developed it a little further - Mermaid!

And over in the Storytellers forum i had a crack at a book cover for "John Carter of Mars". Still only work in progress (and likely to remain so)

Thats enough of that for now.

been a long time since i posted, not been doing much in the way of personal work for a while

but have a few days off, and heres a few sketches that i've managed to do as a result!

I've been toying with this for a while* the basic idea is that this is the result of some cold war experiment about creating genetically and cybernetically modified space warriors.

We are going to have to send people to Mars one day, and when they get there they'd better be able to kick the ass of anyone else who wants to plant a flag.

*i WAS going to do this for the warriors challenge, but on the first page theres already a similar entry. I never said i was original*

Naturally chimps would be natural test subjects

And obviously things would go very very wrong

I'd love to take this further and make a full 3d sculpt, but time and my attention span are both incredibly limited...
