Guidlines: For this challenge we will be focusing on the design of the Telvalon Moorie. Try to imagine how this creature might have evolved based on its living conditions. For this challenge, either a vertebrate or invertebrate design is fine. Its up to you. Contestants will have 3 weeks to complete their design.

The deadline for this contest is Sunday, September 8th at 11:59 pm Eastern Time [GMT-5].
Minimum requirements for final entry:

Beauty, Front, Profile, and 3/4 render of the final piece
No poly limit
Have Fun!

If a you make a low poly model, be sure to get some shots of your wireframe. Texture maps/color and turntables are a plus.

Planet Notes:
Telvalon Moorie is a large hot dry planet who's surface has been cut and eroded by the combination of geysers and strong jet streams which are close to the planet's surface. Over time the combination of moisture and wind have created large canyons that wind their way across the planets surface. The moisture from these geysers has allowed life to form. Although life can be found on the higher plateaus of the planet, the most populated areas are the wind tunnel like canyons pick up moisture from the geysers. Due to the low jetstreams, the weather can become violent in a matter of minutes.

Gravity: 1.5 Earth
Climate: Dessert/Arid
Dirt Color: deep blue green

Bio Overview:
The Telvalon Moorie is a creature who, despite the heavy gravity, has made its living in the air. A medium sized creature, it clings to the side of the canyon until it has a reason to let go. When departing, it has been described as acting like a scuba diver entering the water. Once it enters the gusty canyon it rides the wind and air currents to its next location. The main reasons for leaving the canyon wall are hunting, mating, and migration. The Telvalon Moorie has become adept at picking up changes in weather, and will often migrate before a storm arrives. Young cling to their mothers' underside.

Type: Arial and land hunter
Habitat: Windtunnel like canyons.
Social: Social, pack hunters, groups of 10-50
Reproductive: Viviparous. Number of offspring: 1-2
Temperament: Indifferent but can be aggressive.
Activity Cycle:Active all year-round.

Physiological Notes:
Size: being about 30lb (Coyote sized)
Morphology: Symmetrical - bilateral
Skeletal: Either Vertebrate or Invertebrate (Your Choice)
Location of Senses: head and underside.
Primary Sense: Hearing
Secondary Sense: Sight
Epidermal: Thick, scaly hide and plates, Colors vary – Dark blue, green, deep red.
Limbs: Six jointed limbs.

Yeah I look forward to see this one progress. I really hope I have time for this though, I have been super busy!

Just one question about six jointed limbs, is that 6 limbs with joints or each of its limbs need to have 6 joints in them?

Sorry if that question sounds stupid

yap, im also a bit confused with the limb part, it like for an example: 1head, 2arms, 2 legs and 1 tail??

Sorry, that is quite ambiguous. I was envisioning six limbs, which are jointed (shoulder, elbow, wrist type deal, as opposed to tentacles or something) with a head and a tail if so desired.

Heya guys, I haven't managed to start any modeling but I have just been doing some sketches during my lunch break at work... here is what I have so far, still very early in the design but I though I would show you guys my whole process... even if I don't finish on time
