    Default Strange Startup

When I start 3DS Max 9 from the shortcut on my desktop, everything has a blue tint to it, as though there is a blue light somewhere in the scene. But try as I might, I can't find one. There isn't a hidden light or anything, and I can't figure out where the default lighting color is located. I would also like to change the default measuring units to decimal feet instead of centimeters. How does one go about editing the default startup file?

change the units... then save the scene as "maxstart.max"... it will load the settings from it when u start max... i think even when u restart the scene... can't remember... haven't used that in a while...

as for the light... max has two light's in the scene by default... do disable them create a light and disable if ( off )

edit: just saw the post date... anyway...

        Check
Rendering -> Environment -> (ambient slot)

As for the Maxstart.max should be saved in the default "scenes" folder that is set in the user paths section Customize->Configure User Paths , if you have not changed it, it should be where ever you installed max /scenes
