!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!UPDATE-VERY-IMPORTANT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!
Unfortunately 3D Jam monthly activities have been put on indefinite hold. However, since I pre-announced several themes I will create W.I.P folders for those as the month for each new Jam begins so that if people wanted to work on 3D art within any of those themes they still can without time constraints. I will also keep the collaborative activity alive. None of these things will have site promotion so it will be your responsibility to check the thread for updates unless/until other changes occur which you will be informed of. Thanks a lot everyone that has participated. (Guidelines are still below)

We 3D DCC artists can have a much more pervasive influence here and we should, so please enter and don't be bashful about telling others about the great ideas you'll be executing for these activities. The Jams will last roughly a month since 3D pretty demanding and I think there's a little bit of something in here for everyone. By unofficially pre-announcing the next two Jams we're giving you about eight weeks and twelve weeks respectively to plan complete those entries so you can churn out your absolute best. We may announce a few mini Jams in between, but it will depend on what you good folks want.
CURRENT WIP entries should be posted in the respective 3D Jam
"W.I.P.s #X" thread.
ALL FINAL entries must be posted to the correct corresponding 3D Jam
FINAL #X Entries thread with a big thumbnail
/275 x 275 pixles/ which will be created closer to the end of the challenge period.
Early entries that precede the current challenge round should go into the
PRE-JAMS
Reference images for each Jam will be located in
References
********NOTE _ I will be away in Germany until June 8 or 9. The advertisements for the Jam have not been published yet, but when they are I will adjust the Challenge dates when I return. As a rough guide just know that each challenge is intended to run for 1 month*********
Without further ado
Your Challenges:

May 16, 2011-July 30, 2011 (UPDATED)
Challenge #9
"The Immortal Iron Fist"
An art Jam in the most true sense! 1 character, many different instruments /art styles/. Original style or any re-imagined version you can think of. This is also great timing to precede the film which just got green lit this past week. Ray Park should still be starring. Man I think it was 2005 when whispers of a Ray Park as Iron Fist started trickling out and now finally it looks like it's actually going to happen.

Note: This final submission should also include a small backstory/Character description to help ground the design.

Some Additional instructions:
How to Begin Your Entry
Post your WIP entries inside of the Pre-Jam thread within the 3D Jams Forum with the title 3d Jam #? :: "name of entry" :: "username"
(ie.
3D Jam #1:: Project Title :: Horus397)
Post a sketch or short description or rough sculpt/model of what you'd like to create.
You are required to post WIP images as you go along in the
Pre- Jam Sub-thread, so your fellow artists can give you feedback and learn from your techniques. After your first posting you have two options: #1 You can post new entries or you may edit your original post adding new descriptions and new attachments to that single post.
Most importantly, HAVE FUN!
Deliverables
You will be judged on your final renders or screenshots. Since this is a modeling contest, textures and image treatment effects (DOF, Color grading etc.) are optional BUT NOT discouraged. You can render the final image in any program, or take screenshots from zbrush, mudbox, or whatever app you may be using. Please give us several angles of your final. We are encouraging all modelers to submit turntables of their final entries if possible (you can host them on youtube, vimeo, or other video hosting sites).
(Also be sure to include a Big Thumbnail for voting Poll. Big Thumbnail image size should be no larger than 275 x 275 pixels)
Above all else, the moderators and staff of CGHUB want you to have fun with these challenges while growing your skills, and sharing your artwork with the rest of the community. If ever, there is anything we can do to improve these challenges, feel free to share them in the challenge forum or contact any of the following people with your suggestions:
