I guess I'll go first. Since I'm finished anyway, I see no reason to wait and then accidentally miss the deadline or something.

BACKGROUND: Just read the original thread http://cghub.com/forum/showpost.php?p=39477&postcount=1

PERSONALITY: I envisioned him as a curious person; he would have to be to enjoy studying so much. He doesn't seem very courageous but that is only because he always has a plan and waits for the right moment to act. I didn't think he would be a very emotional person. He would base his decisions on logic. Maybe he would be a little bit cynical; he could think of his parents as warmongers and therefore think that most people are inherently untrustworthy.

DESIGN: This is a simple outfit with many hidden tricks. It doesn't provide much protection because he isn't going in to fight. It does provide plenty of warmth and protection of the elements, though. The flaps on his hat can be snapped together to provide added coverage for his neck and forehead. The large white logo emblazoned across Sheridan's chest is the crown logo of his owners. On Sheridan's wrists are two high-powered holographic projectors. They can project a variety of virtual interfaces or display data and recordings. The benefit of a holographic interface is that it can not become damaged or dirty. In this view they are two halves of a virtual keyboard. The fingertips of his gloves contain sensors that track their location to detect key presses. They also provide haptic feedback. Both are wired through his sleeves to a computer in a small pack on the back of his jacket. The pack also contains surveying equipment, a camera, a holographic recorder/transmitter, and thermal and night-vision infrared extensions for both. He designed this equipment to make his offplanet job easier.

Same for me. I did it to challenge myself in the first place so i better start a new one rather than polishing this one.

Story: My Sheridan here is on some kind of abandoned (underground) facility in order to retrieve XY, when he's been cut off from the crew he got there with (Think of pirates who took over the ship and he managed to escape) he tries to hide/escape/survive and pull the mission on his own so he is going deep down the facility (to restore the main power source for example since it's dark as you can see) and hacks/breaks/wrenches (he got one in one of those bags on his belt for sure) his way through locked doors and other obstacles.

Gear: A hazard jumpsuit, utility belt with different utilities in those pockets (as those attachable lights), lots of gadgets serving multiple purpouse, and hazard boots which allow him to run around in acid, freezing water or lava (ok maybe not but still very hot water)

A strong color for pants invoking the spirit of Akira. The hair trying to give an air of Blade Runer. The clothes very similar to akira.

Here is mine.

My idea for Sheridan was a sort of everyday blue-collar worker. He is the opposite of his parents, and has no interest in adventuring and exploring, rather being satisfied as a simpler labourer/tradesman, wanting to quietly pursue his interests and studies. He is too fearful of meeting his parents' fate to take unnecessary risks.

Sheridan is filled with internal conflict. She wishes she had the courage to break free, and is ashamed of her own cowardice when she decides to remain behind and settle for an easier life... without freedom.

Hey guys
so here's my final entry for the survivor...my idea for Sheridan is clean cut, almost business man like. i really want to play up the idea of his being a well mannered servant...of course as he continues on his adventure his attire and attitude changes but the one thing i wanted to stay consistent was his welding mask which doubles as a tech visor...i want it to become iconic so as the story unfolds it didn't matter what he was wearing just as long as you can see the mask you know it's sheridan...the color of the mask is to suggest his history with his parents being rebel leaders
btw sorry i didn't post any WIPs...didn't have much time and really had to push to get this done on time

My take on Sheridan is someone who puts machines over people - a born engineer and mechanic. Being with the wealthy family she is indentured to gives her access to some of the best equipment, resources, and a constant need for complex service work. This is a perfect environment for her where she is free to bury herself in her work and forget about the fears that she keeps deep inside.

I gave her a heavy duty mechanic-style jumpsuit that never stays clean for very long.

Hey CGHub! I decided to focus on Sheridan's role as a courier/stewardess for her family, and tried to design a costume with a service industry feel.

My idea for Sheridan is that his captors kind of took him in as sort of a son, the only reminder of his servitude is his tracking ankle device thing with glowy parts.

Here's a male Sheridan featured in the lower decks of the 'digital library' possibly making repairs, possibly exploring the cramped hallways and corridors, or possibly checking up on the hardware for maintenance purposes. He has what I'm going to call a retro- clunky version of an ipad or iphone; bulky,junky tech used for cataloguing/record keeping.

This first challenge has been really fun and I think everyone will be pleased to hear the next one. So much great stuff churned out for Round #1!!!! I'm super happy with the response CharacterFORGE has received. Good luck to everyone in the polls!!!

----oh, BTW I will be putting up the polls early tomorrow...SO, if you happen to be a few minutes or maybe an hour after midnight, I won't mind. But seriously, no dilly-dallying! Get those finals in pronto! I mean it!!

PERSONALITY: Once he lost his parents when he was still a kid, Sheridan grew very cautious about everything. At the same time, he had to discover things by himself, making him a curious person too. He is someone who always thinks a lot first, then goes to action.

GEARS: He always carries his backpack with various tools: useful equipment for many situations. His googles work giving him data information as well as working as a thermal sensor. Also he carries a Datapad, where he types notes about his discoverings.
