Hey illustrators! Some Sweet work going on in here!
RobRey - Nice! I dig the action your putting into it, serious potential, look forward to how this one turns out man!

ionic - Great rendering so far, and I really like the palette! I'd like to see you push the gestures for you characters a bit more. Right now it seems they all have the same look on their face. What if Atreyu felt happiness, joy, or love etc. how would his face change? Just something to think about, great work so far g.

DanWarren - Really enjoying your unique take on the characters/subject, you get the award for most original! I would just be careful how much detail you put into areas that aren't your center of interest, Great work so far! PS I would just do the Front Cover, for this activity, we'll have others in the future that'll be full wraparound.

Giovanikc - Cool dragon, I encourage you to explore the rest of its anatomy, try out some gestures or throw another character in there for some interaction.

Onnirica - Great work! nice line quality foofoo had some good advice and I would go even further than having one of your characters face an opposing direction, try and give them different emotions and think of how that effects their whole posture. If you feel like that's too much work because you have all four characters to deal with cut out one or two. I'd rather see Bastian and the empress interacting with one another than everyone just posing for the picture.

Nerahla - Nice environment here, wish you had more time to put into it, have fun at Comicon wish I could be there! Oh and I think we'll probably be doing an open poll for this activity but that shouldn't be a big concern, the focus is on creating new illustrations, challenging yourself and having fun with others.

Arenyth - I like the composition with the sphinx gate that was always an intense memorable moment. I wouldn't worry about text or even the snake symbol for now, just focus on the energy between Atreyu and the sphinx gate. Play around with different perspectives there - maybe pull in a bit so the Sphinx are larger and we're looking at them more from Atreyu's Point of View, keep it up!

haha, that's exactly what I was going to do! I'm going to put Bastian and Moonchild together in the scene where she shows him what's left of Fantasia, where they're both looking at her hand with the little sand. I'll try to put Falcor looking at us smiling like he's flying, and not just still, and about Atreyu... I'm not sure yet...

But thanks for the suggestion!! All your comments are making me very happy and excited to try my best!

Ionic - I love your work till now!! But I have to agree with naetronic, you should give some other expression to Atreyu or Moonchild (I'll have to do the same thing, hehe) Bastian's expression is perfect, since it shows he's concentrated and really following with emotion what he's reading.

I'm working on the color pass and drawing right now, but this is the very loose beginning for me , at this stage I just put down all my ideas fast. It will be Atreyu riding alongside the Blue Buffalo.

I don't remember seeing any buffalo in the movie..hmmm..anyways. Here's mine! Still far from done, just blocking in of colours. Broken lands will be added to fill up abit of the space.

Here is mine, this time the drawing is more sketchy, I'm just trying to define how it is going to be, I'll now choose the colors, so if you have any suggestion for me, tell me before I begin to paint it... if I have the time to finish before next Monday hehe

Oh, and btw, I've put Atreyu with this suffering face because both in the book and the movie he goes through so many things that that's the idea I have of him throughout the story. I've put moonchild and Bastian in the scene where she shows him the little sand that represents what's left of Fantasia, and at the same time the sand falls from her hand to create the Ivory Tower, and Falcor of course is flying with that smiling face of his.

i love atreyus expression! i noticed that falcor and atreyu are both looking away/off the page. maybe u can switch them so falcor is on the right and looking at atreyu (who is now on the left) who is looking up at bastien? this kinda makes sense to me both compositionally and in regards to the character roles in the story go. =)
