I have done a bit of watercolor yesterday and today, mostly just experiments with the colors to see how they behave, it's a lot harder than it looks, but I'm really enjoying it.

Watercolours are nice and you've improved a lot in the past few pages, i can see you have been struggling a little with your landscapes/environments and its all about getting the lighting and values down (maybe in grey scale) with a big brush before you start putting in the details and colour. If you haven't already do check out the paintover thread in the 2D WIP section as there are loads of useful tips in there.

I did you a really quick paint over on one of the studies just to show how a few little changes can change the whole image. Its basically some shadows with a big brush then some adjustment layers on top.

Thanks so much for that paintover, Kovah, looks much better. I knew I messed up the values in it, but I was forced to paint with my left hand when I painted it, and after 2 hours I got to frustrated with it to continue. But thanks again

So here my first digital work in what feel like ages, still a WIP so please crit

The watercolour veg are very good and I'd love to see that toadstool animated, blinking away. Excellent photostudy, you're getting deft with your left hand.

Thanks Black-Spot. Funny idea, but I don't know how to animate it. I'm using my right hand again now. I got tendonitis in the left as well, so for like a month I couldn't do anything, but now I can work with the right when I wear a protective thingy around my arm.

sad to hear about the tendonittis hope you're not having to much trouble, anyway artwise you're doing better in color, actually you've done really well with color - but the sense of distance could stand some improvement... your creatures are coming along beutiful... nice turtle

                      Hey Jskotte
Sorry to hear about the tendonitis. Not fun. The paintings are looking good. Watercolors are coming along, but might benefit from a bit more planning? Always found that watercolor takes a lot more concentration because there's not as much leeway for correction later as there is with acrylic, oil, digital. Especially with lighter colors and white.

Love the mushroom. I like things with lots of eyes

MarkWester- Thanks, yeah I'll work more on the landscapes on the atmospheric perspective.

FreddyScribbles- Thanks, and yes I think I'll try to sketch something with a pencil first for the watercolors next time and plan better, I was just painting.

Arms are getting better, I can draw and paint again now, atleast a bit

Well, I pretty much suck at painting both water and rock, so not the most successful photostudy here, but any tips for both rock and painting are much appreciated.

Nice studies my friend. Look like you have a good start. The only thing I can suggest at this point is to learn as much as you can from your studies. What I mean is do a study and then right after do an imagination drawing with the same elements that were in the study. Keep it up brah, only gonna get better!

I think rocks need sharp edges unless in shadow. Try it and see.

Sorry about your ongoing problems. but at least you now have a brace to help. Are you doing exercises as well?
