I think I should ask your advice, I have and old Pentium IV and I'm thinking about buying a 24'' Imac (the cheapest one) I think that would be a huge update.
I'm have win a scolarship to work 3 months abroad so I'm think about getting a laptop too, and since at home I'm gonna use mainly the Imac I thought it would be nice to have a small tablet pc to carry around those 3 months, and for going to workshops and such when I get back, I was thinking about the HP 12,1'' TouchSmart tx2 (it might be like 650 €), so what do you think It's a nice tabletpc? or I should get just a laptop with a bigger screen (15'') and carry my intuos3 A4 with it? (A4 is kinda big to go out with it btw)

      Thank you.

PS: Just for laughs, My computer have 1 Gb of RAM, it used to have 512 mb, but last summer one of the RAMs crushed and I thought It has a virus or something since it was so slow, you don't know how "funny" was to run Photoshop CS3 with 256 Mb of RAM XDD

I actually got one of the refurbished Fujitsu's a while back. Great deal, haven't looked back since. A word of advice though, buy one with low ram and install your own. It's easy as pie. I definitely suggest a good 3 gigs for the computer to keep up with the pen at 300 dpi.

I have a Toshiba portege m400 and i'm very satisfied with it.
But i recommend the newer model available, m700 i think it's the latest. Look into it
It's not apple, but it's still a great brand.

I've been really interested in getting a tablet pc to go along or even replace my 'analog' sketchbook so to say .

After a little digging i found a pretty good contender, the motion LE1700 - although its pricy (haven't checked ebay though).

I believe its compatible with wacom drivers, though i'm not 100% sure, the fact that i can add another 2GB ram in this thing makes it all kinds of awesome in my book.

Salaryman wrote up quite a nice review for it too, you guys should check it out.

                Talking Happy with my tablet

I've been using an HP Pavillion tx2510 Tablet PC for over a year now, and i love it. I'm spoiled by it. It is wacom penabled and comes with a basic pen (that slides into the chassis) but can be used with a number of wacom pens, and you can always adjust the sensitivity. Supposedly the wacom pen doesn't scratch the screen, but I use a screen protector just in case. After using a regular drawing tablet (MAC and PC) and my own tablet/laptop I have to go with my little tablet PC for everyday applications. It seems to be the speediest cleanest easiest solution. It's my new sketchbook, i love it.

That exopc looks pretty awesome! And has enough ram for Photoshop.
                    Looking forward to that!
But a question does it only recognize finger movements or is there a stylus involved??

If there is not a pen maybe it could be paired with one of these? http://www.n-trig.com/Content.aspx?P...sePenSolutions
