Hey everyone. I've decided that after lack of motivation in 2009 I would really push myself this year. That's why I joined here. I'm looking for lots of critique and advice to help me become a better digital artist. Sketching a lot was never really a habit for me, but I'm hoping making a sketchbook will push me to draw more and more.

I love illustrating and painting characters. But I'm open to exploring new areas as well. It's all about learning!

Here is one I did as a magazine cover entry. It was part of my graphic design studies. As much as I love what I'm studying, it leaves little time for painting and drawing, so to get such an open brief was a breath of fresh air.

This is what I'm currently working on when I'm not swamped by homework. It's a picture I sketched earlier this year, and I've only recently found the time to start it. Any suggestions or crits are welcomed!
I think I have to start taking my sketchbook everywhere with me. Also, I hear a lot about people drawing in grayscale and then adding the colour after. I think I need to learn a bit about tone. Can anyone point me to tutorials on this subject?
