We've just completed one of the projects that has been in development for a while now and we'd like to share it with you and get your comments and feedback! We are calling it "Image Stream View" and it's a new way to browse images on CGHUB.com. We are excited about this feature and hope you will be as well.

A common frustration since we started the site has been the inability to get a quick overview of an artists body of work. The thumbnails are often too small to get a sense of an image, and browsing through image by image can be slow and tedious. We wanted to provide something that is more along the lines of a blog view of artists work but with some extra features. FFFFOUND! is a good example of what we are trying to achieve here while innovating on the idea. This new view mode uses images that are max 550px wide and 600 px high and fits 10 images per page before pagination occurs.

You may have stumbled on the Stream View feature already, today we released the final pieces which allow users to leave a quick comment and rate for an image, view the full size of an image without having to visit the image page, and a share option to send the image to your friends and social media sites.

Image Stream View is the new default when you are on an artists profile page and you click the "Gallery" tab. Also if you scroll down the profile page to "Site Content" and click "View all" under images you will get the stream view mode as well.

When you are viewing an image and click on "Gallery" under the image (next to the user name) that will take you stream view as well. Finally the main images nav bar drop down uses stream view for "new" "most views" and "highest rated" links.

If you do an image search, you can easily switch over to stream view. Similarly, if you are in stream view and wish to view pages in their old style, you can click on "Detailed" or "Simple" buttons to go back to the old image info list style.

We hope you like this addition, please let us know if you run into any bugs which are very likely to pop up in this first release, or if you have any suggestions for how we can improve this new feature.

Coming soon is the ability to view editor picks in stream view, user favorites in stream view, and images from users you are following in stream view as well.

This is the first of several very cool new features in the works and we hope you enjoy it!

The new viewing system is stunning and a lot more pleasurable!

But I am running into a problem now, the "manage sets" and "sort my images" buttons do not seem to be working properly. I can no longer drag and place the images in my gallery in a custom order. Is anyone else having this problem?

Great feature. Will there be some sort of integration with the forums, in the future possibly?

If you upload/add images in your thread it will be posted in the image stream that suits it?

totally dig it. i found it awhile back. and was looking for a posting about it. thanks for this great feature i really like it alot!! simple faster is always good!
