Nickillus Thanks Nickilus. Finally got the template attached. For some reason, it wasn't taking. I'd upload it, and then it wouldn't show up.
mogster Yeah, on rounds like these, it's fairly open, so you use the template from the previous round if it doesn't show up. Bjorn Yes, before common era. Quote:
*This round is a bit of a mix of the real historical figures of Ch'iao K'uo Fü Jën and Ching Yin Saou, who lived much later in the 1800's. What you're supposed to do, in bullets. - Action adventure on the high seas with a historical flavor. - This is historical fiction, so keep it real, but with a touch of fantasy. - Front Cover Only - psd template below. - Working file can be any size you want, finals to be no wider than 1000 pixels (you can include detail shots if you want). - Post FINAL image in FINALS THREAD (to be posted later). - Cover design is up to the artist - you can use the template, or design your own. (Keep it the same dimensions, though). - This is an open round - have fun, be imaginative. So, it's up to you. Are we taking Ch'iao K'uo Fü Jën and sending her back and forth in time? The imperial navy is after her, so that's what it sounds like. Or is it something else? It's an open round. Come up with something fun. How you interpret the historical accuracy is up to you. It's historical fiction. It's not meant to be accurate. Best, ~S

Ok, only one question - HOW historically accurate does this have to be?
I'm asking because I'm doing the research right now and apparently Chinese junk ships were developed in 220 BCE and most of the decent reference I could find for junks are from 13 century and on... Maybe I'm just searching at the wrong places? EDIT Oh, and here's a nice ref page for clothing and such if anyone's interested http://wiudwing.blogspot.com/2008/09...cient-war.html Last edited by The_Whistler; 02-19-2010 at 11:46 AM. |
