That's the plan. Even if people feel they don't have the time to share their steps as they move along, it would be nice if they save their sketches, maybe 1 wip and the final to give people a little insight into how they work. It will benefit everyone.

Yea, I used to have enough time to spend a couple days on weeklies. I don't know where that time went.

Mike Corriero: Thank you very much!! I'm very happy you liked my ideas! Btw, I watched your links and your concepts are simply awesome!

Steve Sommers: Man, YOUR work is Badass one!!! I loved your creature, and It's very funny the "old version" like a bird! Thank you very much! My animal is like a squirrel, so beaver is a good option!

dman3d: This is an interesting view of my animal! I though some like a giant squirrel mixed with a monkey, but diferent views are something good to know and very welcome! Thanks!!

Brynn_Metheney: Thanks a lot Brynn!

Hey people, one more wip:

I have lots of work to do here, but lots of fun too!

Sketchies of different concepts for Drifting Forest Grazer:

The first designs were more deer like, then I thought about going more reptilian, then I saw a picture of an elephant and decided to go big, then I re-read the prompt and realised I missed the "drifting" aspect of the creature in the previous designs.

So I saw a picture of a baby Wombat and decided to do a shorter, squattier version of the previous creature designs with an interesting ability that when startled, it jumps straight up while pulling each leg outward stretching it's pockets of skin on it's sides, giving it the ability to either jump into a tree or glide away unharmed.

I do like the version with the prehensile lips to the right of the image though. I think the little wombat-inspired guy has everything the prompt requires though so I will go with him

            Hey everyone,

I am bummed I saw the annoucement too late, the deadline is now in 5 days...

I pulled something in about one hour on Zbrush. Tell me what you think.

I took the freedom of creating a tiny forest grazer that would be using his massive ears to glide from trees to trees. That is just a roughed out idea of my concept at that point.

jon_bosco - thats a great creature, looking good!

NorthernChild - its so cute lol, cool design

goog - cool one, like the eyes a lot

remingt0n - I like the sort of quirky expression and how its asymmetrical.

naetronic - great job so far! I'd like to see the older one looking even older, maybe with the skin a bit more saggy.

Steve_Somers - thats awesome man lol. Its kinda creepy actually, would like to see the mountain concept tho.

Heres an update, got to work on it a bit today:

Here's an update of my concept !

I Finalized the dad in about two hours and made the kiddos in about 1 hour and half. Then I pulled a crappy rough concept board of what the final should look like in Photoshop. It is pretty clear in my mind now that I have all the pieces -almost-
                  Wadya think ?

                  C and C welcome !

Having a little trouble here on my end, I just got the finals/voting thread up tonight:
                    POST - FINALS HERE: http://cghub.com/forum/showthread.php?t=2322

I may keep the deadline open a little longer because I wasn't able to post the thread until tonight. Deadline is Feb. 11th at 11pm EST, but I may keep it open a bit longer. If you're finished, make sure to post your work there.
