Perhaps if there was an option to hide certain areas of the forum; for example, I am not interested in 3D at all. When I click the little 'minus' it either hides ALL areas but General the next time I visit, or doesn't do anything :\

If CGHUB was my website, I would...implement HighSlide JS for viewing images.

Just a tiny thing--I'd make it so you can edit the thread titles. I find it's helpful in sketchbooks should you want to edit the date every time you update. (Sorry if there's already a way to do this--every time I try to edit the title of the first post, the actual thread title stays the same).

I would add a mixed method forum space. I work in 2d and
3d, it would be easier to have one sketch book for both.

I'd get rid of the "Wants Critique" box because it makes no sense to me and I'd have the "Find Images" search form include image tags when searching for images. It currently only searches the image description.

This is an interesting point. However I think there will be some users who are not ready for critique. While I do not necessarily support their decision to waive crits, I think they aught to have a button to indicate that they don't want critique.

That way the default setting would be for users to expect critique, but there would be the option to turn it down.

there are some glitches with opera browser..the "show your signature" and "quote message in reply" in the quick reply section cannot be clicked..
also when browsing the forums the bar at the top below the banner condenses forums/users/images/tools buttons into the same spot..seems to work fine everywhere else.

I would also insert the "add to favorites" and "follow user" straight in the viewer interface, makes it easier than having to close the viewer and search for that pic you wanted to fave in the list..can be useful especially in galleries that have plenty of images.

I do this too. I was wondering something like this myself. In my case I make environments and objects in 3D and then export them to 2D to use as props and sets in 2D images.

ok here's what i would do- i would change the 'blog' tab on my personal homepage to 'sketchbook' and whenever i updated it the update would show in the forum 'sketchbooks'- this way we could keep track of who's recently updated when we search the forum but also kind of compacts all the work together on your homepage- so it could be open to 2d and 3d, i don't think many use the blog but it's still an awesome touch ,

another idea would be to scrap the want's critic images on front page for exchange a icon like your 'drawing jam winner' or 'moderator' that we can enable or disable in settings- 'appreciates critics' icon. you could also add a button like your 'thanks button' that says 'good critic!' i think this will get people into criticizing because at the moment everybody seems very polite and maybe afraid of insulting someone's work perhaps

                    Both fantastic suggestions!

ETA: I'm still a beginner, and I'm mainly doing studies at this point that I don't really want to use the "images" or gallery features for. But it would still be nice if people could find my sketchbook directly from my profile in some way other than through my signature, like Matthew suggests

We have taken a look at this bug and you should now be able to re-name your thread titles. If you still experience any difficulties please let us know!

A flexible width layout for the forums has been in the works for a while now and should be ready in the next week or two so hang tight!

After that we will be releasing a dark UI option for the forums as well. Later on the site will get a full on skin upgrade to have UI color options but for now the forum gets priority.

Thanks for all the suggestions! We read every one so keep them coming!
