I'm much better at saying what I'd avoid doing than saying what I would do. So far you guys have done nothing that makes me, as a user, feel offended, unwelcome, patronized, or done any of the things I've seen on other sites that would cause me to freak out. As such I'm happier than Micheal Moore locked in a Twinkies factory... happier than Oprah with a free lifetime supply of KFC... happier than... I think you get the idea.
As for ideas on how to make things even better... I'm going to look around and see if any of the stuff I can think of hasn't already been done, if there's anything that I find I'll get back to you on that.

Thanks for your suggestion TwoListen! When CGHUB launched we originally had a dark UI but we switched over to the light one and haven't updated it since. We have been developing a skin system which got put on the backburner for some bigger feature sets which took priority.
Would you rate this one of highest priorities of things you would like to see changed? If you have the time we'd love to see you guys submit color scheme suggestions and mockups if you have them so we have some ideas of what you want to see. Thank you again for your suggestions! And thank you Peter_Coene for the encouraging words!

Oh, I just thought of something! (if its already here I'm sorry, but I didn't see it.)
It would be cool if CGhub had a place where artists in nearby areas can find each other and meet up. Possibly for art related purposes, but it doesn't have to be. I mean, we all like hanging out here, right? It would be cool if we could hang out in real life!

I would get rid of the 2-D sub forums "environment design", "character design", and "vehicle design", and let people post all of that stuff into the "Concept and Illustration" category. So many sub-forums seems redundant, unless they are used for the specific purpose of instruction. It would be nice to have it all in one place.

this is probably way beyond the scope of this thread, but i've been looking for something similar to glassdoor.com exclusively for artists. some sort of anonymous salary/company review deal would be cool.

I don't have any smart ideas right now, I think everything works well.
Just wanted to say I appreciate how easy it is to browse through an artist work, without having to look for pictures through some walls of text. The "favorites" feature is nice too because we can keep the inspiring pieces accessible from there, and also because it gives an idea of the artists tastes. My tiny nip ticking critic (not even on the site design itself) would be that everything seems to be '5 stars', which can, in my opinion, give a flawed idea of the level of quality. Though, lots of awesome works all around, so i guess this explains that. Sorry if i don't bring new ideas! I like it so far, here. ![]() |
