Excellent work. Do you fill requests? I have coding for a Half-Life 2 mod nearly completed and you are extremely apt in the style we are using. Some good concept art would be amazing in terms of getting a competent 3d artist.

Bluesun2600 - I appreciate the compliment and the interest in my work. Though I don't have time to work on Mod's or projects of that nature. Good luck with it though.

I'll hopefully post some new sketches soon. I've been drawing a lot more with Pigment liner pens lately in my little 6 x 9 inch sketchbook, to help me improve my quality of line work and speed. They're mostly thumbnails but it's very helpful and I generally produce final work based on those small thumbnails instead of a detailed larger sketch.

Just some quick cards done for www.warstorm.com over the course of a couple months for the Demon, Dragon and Mercenary expansions. Some may be repeats but I just wanted to post them all in one spot at the same scale. The output scale is 300 x 216 pixels so not too much detail was necessary. I just finished up 42 cards for the new Monsters expansion but I can't post them just yet. Some are established characters created by other artists, but most are just created from a general brief card title and description. Usually 2 or 3 were done in a day, though sometimes I would spend a day on just one.

My only suggestion would be to put more attention to proportions in the anatomy studies.

Thanks man. I figured I would share old and new work since this is a rather new community and I've only been here for a short while. Human anatomy is still one of my greatest weaknesses.

It's about time I went back to and finally finished this conceptual Illustration. Just an idea based on a rough thumbnail for a big brute demon, but along the way his forearms developed into a sort of crab/hand with a few additional pinchers for his fingers. I just thought it made him look a little more brute-ish.

A conceptual illustration created for Advanced Photoshop magazine Issue 063. The editor Julie asked for a simple creative creature workshop involving a dragon flying toward the viewer. The only two restrictions were the POV and they didn't want a red dragon. Senior staff writer Adam art directed the remaining work. It was suggested that I just keep the background simple because of the tight deadline.
I didn't want to go with the typical dragon, so I had suggested the idea of a butterfly and parrot colored dragon with similar elements tied into the design and patterns. This is a 4 page workshop that covered some simple custom brush creation and creature design ideation, the issue is out now.

Just some of the very rough thumbnail sketches done in preliminary design for the workshop as well, working out the design of the dragon and discussing a little bit about proportions.

NorthernChild - Those are digital sketches with a custom "pencil styled brush".
Some thumbnail sketches from my 6x8 Doodle book, where I primarily use pigment liner pens to sketch quick ideas. I'm using pigment liners more often in this form of sketching to hopefully help my confidence in the lines and ideas I'm putting down. It's a good exercise.
