Here's my WIP of a hellish parasite worm... like a stomach worm or something. Just imagine pulling this thing out of a wound.

I've been picking away at it. Here is the final Dynamesh model. I'm now gonna retopo and get to the details. The lost soul figure will be reposed in several positions. I can't wait to pose the HellBeast himself. I want to put some forward energy by lifting a leg, tilting the head, and shifting the hips. I'm learning a lot.

      Thanks for the compliment jhon.
You know, that's a good question. The tip given to me was that it's much easier and lighter to handle as a polymesh (I hope I'm getting that term right) as you can go up and down in subdivisions and work on isolated areas. Posing is better and it's a necessary step to export out to other programs. I'm getting help from a co-worker and he is a master! I personally love sculpting in Dynamesh and feel most comfortable there.

I'm keeping the base ground in Dynamesh though right up to the end. I wonder if I'll see a perceptible difference?

        Hey SARDEANIE,
Great stuff so far, I'm a big fan of dynamesh too.
Just wanted to offer my two cents as far as making the retopology process quicker for yourself. Apologies if you already know this.

Firstly duplicate your subtool and turn off visibility on the original.
Lower the resolution and then re dynamesh the tool with 0 blur and project on. With this your aiming for a Dynamesh close to 50k Poly as possible.
Then use the Qremesher with target poly set to 50 (50k). Make sure you have symmetry on so it creates a nice mesh.
Once this is done you'll notice you will have lost some detail but its ok.
Divide this mesh so it's the same or as close to your original tool poly count as possible.
Ok now with your new tool selected turn the visibility back on the original tool.
Go to the PROJECT tab, turn down blur to 0 (or higher depending on your needs and result) and click Project All.
Your new retopologized tool will now have all your details projected onto it from the original tool.

I do this myself when I'm wanting to quickly retopologize something and a super organized clean mesh isn't really necessary.
Again if you know this, sorry to bore you otherwise I hope it helps.

Also I'm not just creeping, I'm getting involved in this challenge I've been delayed starting though. Hopefully I can get something done in time.
Cheers and keep up the awesome stuff guys

        AJ

Thanks AJL! That is pretty much step by step what I did ( I had help). It sure looks clearer written down the way you have it though. Believe me, I am printing this page for future reference! Thanks for taking the time. Clear advice is always accepted!

Hey, no problem. Glad I could help
JHON: Qremesher will retopologize to a maximum of 50k. So the result you are getting is normal.
The SAME,HALF and DOUBLE tabs are only really beneficial with a mesh that is below 50k to begin with.
To get a higher mesh once you have used Qremesher just divide as you would normally.
            Hope this helps.

              Default Hellbeasty

              Hey guys
              OK I'm in.
I want to make a hell hound kind of creature but this one has no head and instead contains a gateway to hell. These hounds are released to capture damned soles. They grab onto the persons soul with the tentacles and pull them into the gateway.
Fingers crossed I'll be able to finish this one.
Anyway here's my concept, quick dynamesh and photoshop paint over.
              Cheers
