Hello.. this is my wip atm o really dont like the bg and am probably gonna dump it.. any and all critiques and suggestions would be hugely appreciated!!

If you carry on with this I would expand the canvas and finish the rest of the girl and bear...love the palette. Something else in the painting composition wise doesn't seem to lead my eyes very easily around the elements in the picture. I don't know if anyone thinks the same or if it's me. Everything seems to be stuck on one side and nothing seems to lead your eye on the right side apart from a branch...might have to get back to you when I figure it out..Got no worries about how your've drawn the girl or the bear. Quite Like the expression of the bear and the detail you've put in.

and i'm thinking of completely changing the bg what do you think?

I would suggest expanding it down to her feet yes. Keep the background based in the forest but possibly add a few faces of enemy's just appearing in the thick of the woods (like other tribes people surrounding her or wolf's or something) and change the expression of her face so it has more emotion of what sort of story you imagine is happening. You've got the bear growling angrily at something, so I presume that they are in danger and possibly ready to fight. One thing I try to examine in my own work and other peoples work is how the eye is lead around the image. Whether they use light or individual elements that lead you to a point in the image, and if it's lead round fluently. If it gets clunky, somethings wrong.... Hope that helps a bit more bud. Even if you might know some of this already..Thanks also for giving the time crit my own painting...
