      Default Nectar Creeper by LindseyCC

This is my entry, I wanted to do a very small reptilian creature that can move in high energy bursts when it needs to make an escape. It is very light so that the flower can sustain it's weight while it uses it's front limbs to move the poisonous barbs out of the way while feeding on the nectar. It's symbiotic with the flower as the Nectar Creeper's tiny hairs help to spread the flower's pollen.

The Opei bush is found sprawling across the floors of sparse arid forests. One bush growing into another, this tangled mess is home to several creatures: among them the Nectar Creeper. It feeds primarily on nectar from the flowers of the Opei bush, supplementing its diet with small insects. Though capable of quick movements when necessary, the Nectar Creeper prefers to move excruciatingly slow in an effort to conserve energy. This is how it earns its name. Its slow movements help the Nectar Creeper go undetected by its predators, as does its dull, dappled hide, which blends with its surroundings. The main line of defense however is the environment itself; the tangles of barbed Opei stems and vines provide sanctuary. The Nectar Creeper has adapted a tough hide to live here, as well as some incredibly long and strong forelimbs. Tipped with hook-like fingers, these forelimbs are used to pry open Opei flower pods, to get at the nectar within. The Creeper has a long snout to help it reach the nectar without getting in the way of the Opei's many barbs, as well as a long protruding tongue to extend its reach even further. The tongue is hollow to allow the slurping of nectar, and has a sticky surface that allows the Creeper to snatch insects off of plants, or even out of the air! On its chin is the Creeper's only “tooth”, which it uses to stab the small fruit at the center of the Opei flower, releasing its nectar.

Here is my Nectar Creeper, the nectar of the opei tree is bioluminescent, the male creeper stores the nectar in his thorax to show the female creepers that he is well fed and a suitable candidate to mate.

(I am trying to figure out how to post with the thumbnail as I cant seem to pick it up from the attachment file)

I will vote for juannovelletto, I really like the atmosphere in the artwork and I think this bug-and-bird-idea works pretty good!
