At first I was leaning towards a dragon or something because, I mean, c'mon. Dragon. But I got it in my head to do a Tezuka inspired literal interpretation with a king and a court full of animal peoples. Expect rabbit knights and crazy crap like that.

Stereotypical king doodle with gray in his mane, etcetera, think I'm about done developing the character, so onto layout/etc?

Im probably going to make a child (the king) riding on a huge saber-tooth. Might not be as good as expected but ill see what i can do.

So i decided to sort of change the last post idea:

Its my own original "beast": a saber-toothed bear. The rider on the back is going to have some tribal tattoos/clothing on.

PLEASE LEAVE SUGGESTIONS, i will gladly take them.



EDIT: I think im finished with the bear, what do you guys think?
I also sort of need help with the human rider, any suggestions?

Here is my wip for the King. My version is a once strong and proud god who is now beaten down and powerless to stop the decimation of the beasts he rules over. He has grown tired and sad from ushering so many of his subjects into oblivion.

@Deadbear i like your style of art. Sort of makes me think of world of warcraft. And i like your concept.

@GhostBrush im surprised no ones thought of that yet. Not sure what the blue thing is, but i cant wait till its finished.

@burnsius I like how you mixed up a bunch of animals onto one beast. Good Job. One suggestion, i think you should make the wings bigger, just to make it look for beastly.

Well, here's what ive done with the bear, still not sure about the human guy on the top. I was thinking there shouldn't be a human, but then the whole "king" concept would be gone, unless i pimped out the bear. Any suggestions?

@AlexTLe: Nice bear so far! I think you should bring the person back. Even if you fancied the bear up I don't know if it would really read as royalty what with the frenzied charging and all.

@Ghostbrush: Nice concept! Are we gonna see a little more of the scene?

@AlexTLe ( I really like your bear btw)I think you should bring the person back back have the human riding the bear in a standing position, on top but like he is standing over the bear with some sort of leash around it's neck, i think that could re-inforce the riders dominance an kinglyness. Just an idea for ya.

So, I was doodling away on this Jam, and came up with a young man being the king of some beasts. I had this idea of the boy from that children's book, where he is in his dreams on that islands with the friendly monsters, and this should be like a grownup version of this boy, more battle experienced, fiercer and proud. The beasts are like, well what I pictured as a beast, a cross between a cat, cougar, dog, bear, etc..

I don't know if I can do this as a digital painting, way to inexpereinced, but I'll give it a try.
