Default 3D Jam #1: Zartan

Hey everyone. I'm going to try a take on Zartan .
Planning to aim for a bust instead of a full body shot.
Good luck to everyone!

Setting up the proportions right now. Using a base mesh that I made for modelling busts. Going to retopologize the mesh once I'm done with the concept.

Good topology on the basemesh. I think focusing on the bust is a great idea.

Sweet I was wondering if someone would pick him. Really like his design.
      Good topo by the way.

Von, Red, Iron, Koala: Thanks for the thumbs up on the topology! Here's an update. I've added the shoulder armor, shirt and cowl. I most definitely like him better with a cowl rather than hair like in the old cartoon. Having him bald just makes more sense when you're a chameleon able to take on any human likeness. Still resolving how the final facial features will be.

Planning on adding more accessries to him as well.

I think the slightly elongated face compliments the hood (or vice versa) extremely well!

        sweet work!
I found the hood a bit too close to the head, it makes him look older/wicker. Perhaps making it like the fabric is stronger/thicker would help.

        I wasn't able to find a photography but I found this :

Thanks for the great ref Koala! Yes the hood's fabric needs to be more thicker and defined. Plan to do that in the next update.
I've just been playing around with how it flows right now. Symmetry is on for now so please forgive the repetition .

I've added the gloves, belt and some pouches. Going to model his gun next.

I'm still not satisfied with the face and will keep refining him as I go forward.

Like where this is going, the skull belt buckle is a nice touch. Hope to see that giant silencer on his pistol (looked to cool to pass on in the reference sheet) Anyways keep it up

I disappeared for a week but I'm back again!
Roughed out the colt with the silencer like in the concept. YES, I can't let that one go..lol. Hopefully I'll get my speed back up and finish this dude in time.
