    Default Andreas Bech's Sketchbook

    Hi everybody,
After having looked around on all the amazing work featured on the site for quite a while, I've finally decided to get my act together and start my own sketchbook.

Im starting my master degree (engineering) after the summer, although recently I, like many of you I guess, got interested in entertainment design and illustration. I've decided to finish my master degree while trying to improve my painting and design skills as must as possible and see where it takes me. Im pretty much self-taught and know I have a lot of catching up to do but I'm willing to put in the effort.

I'm going to start the sketchbook with pretty much all the drawing I've done up till know, and from there keep it updated. Comments and criticism are much appreciated as are advice on my further progress.

Sweet mother those images are huge.. Do I have to manual resize them, or is there a trick to do it through the attachment manager?

I'm completely new to these kinds of forums, sorry.

                Thanks in advance!

I've had my first real experience with Croquis the other day. It was great fun, and I'll definitely do it again whenever the opportunity arises.
During the class I used a standard pencil, but afterwards I quickly traced the silhouettes with a ballpoint pen.

A few sketches for this weeks Creature Forge.
The idea is a blue whale infected by an techno-organic virus which makes it airborne.

I really have a hard time getting skies to look right whilst achieving the mood I want.. I'll have to do some studies of that in the future

Hey Andreas, thanks for stopping by my sketchbook!

Unfortunately, in order to fix those images, you have to edit and upload new files to replace them.

Otherwise, you have a good grasp on digital! Don't be afraid to simplify or slow down when it comes to traditional art.

                            @ stace
It was my pleasure! Thanks for your input, I'll change those images at some point today.
I think you're right, I'll have to slow down and pay some more attention to the finished quality in traditional mediums.

Thanks for stopping by and the nice comment. I'll throw a comment in your sketchbook regarding your own work in a couple of mins

Enough with the laziness, I need to update this again..

I haven't much time the last couple of days and hence, all the drawing I've done have been on the "New World" and "Creature Forge" challenges.

The New World was due yesterday and this is the result

My plan was to participate in the Character Forge challenge currently running but I realized my anatomy skills is lacking quite a bit. I'll try to work on these while still participating in the New World challenges but thats gonna be it for the next couple of weeks at least.
