The announcement was made by Epic Games vice president Mark Rein at the DICE 2012 summit while he was talking to G4TV about Epic founder Tim Sweeney's contribution to the gaming world.

    how many more times powerful are this gens' console over last gen?

    To be fair, a high end modern gaming PC can already reach 2.4-2.5 TFLOPS with a single graphics card (x2), much more on system running mutliple cards (equivalant to 10x the xbox360). A mid to mid-high range card is about 4x a xbox360. Goes to show you how dated console hardware is now.
