    Default ESWAT robo-cop

Hello everyone. I wanted to start a new project for my portfolio. I also wanted to try something new for a change. kinda burned out from modeling hard surface stuff all the time.

So my project will be based on a concept that was designed by an artist named Aaron Beck. He posted an image of a robot concept on his blog. I was really impressed by the concept and I wanted to take it a step further and turn it into a 3d model.

These pictures are from a couple of days ago. I have made some updates which I will post tonight or tomorrow.

    here is the original concept

Just a small update. I finished the shoulder straps last night. also worked on the revolver screwgate. I think I spent too much time modeling that small part but it came out pretty cool. ( screw gate was modeled in cad) I dont think a robot would ever really need one. It was included in the concept so I modeled it anyway.

      heres a cad screen grab

Thank you Christophe. Im really glad you like the design!

I made some more small parts. still lots to do for the vest. Pouches and buckles, etc...

Worked on the cop bot last night some more. Just little things like straps, buckles.worked the vest and started the back part of the vest.

I also experimented with another "head" I think it looks pretty cool. The arms were meant for the Huntsman model that is on the back burner at the moment.

Not a big update. Just worked on the vest some more and started experimenting with ncloth for the first time. I really enjoy ncloth. My only regret is that I did not discover it earlier

the pouches are my first cloth sim. I didn't setup up the cloth too well so the effect is not perfect. but I can work with it for now.

started torso and legs. And I have the shoulders blocked out which was the hardest part of the project so far. Mainly because I had to deal with the collision issues.

                        Great work!

The new head design really fits a lot better than the old. When thinking of standing in front of these things, i would have a LOT respect. The old head design however looked ... harmless or friendly, donīt know why. My personal opinion.

                        Keep it on!
