everyone has such good work on here I need to step it up more!

More of the kingdom of Branae, working on what the people look like playing around with different ideas and settling for more of a creepier/orc/uruk hai type look but I think I may play around with making them more frail looking rather than these bulky guys I have now. I like the idea of dreadlocks on them and think I may go that route and lots of face paint.

@Mellon, I really like the nomad and the cattle design on the left how the nomad sort of looks like the cattle. Not sure if that's what you were going for but it's a cool ideal. And the little cart is cool, evryone else seems to have the nomad riding the cattle.

@ceG, I'm diggin your northerner cons. I like 1and2 #1 being my fav.

      Good work everyone!

Of late I've been getting into drawing engines/cars/bikes and all that sort, so I thought I would use to this opportunity to really push myself in that field a bit.

So here I got an idea for a nomad preparing to head north, with the bike designed to carry a lot of weight

the sketches will focus more on the driver and the bike.

Default New to the 2D Jams!

Hey guys, this is my very first drawing jam! My name is Pow, nice to meet you all. Really awesome entries so far, they definitely inspired me to participate.

@MrBrown: Really? I almost didnt participate because of how GORGEOUSLY intimidating your sketches are! excited to see your rendered piece.

@Chiemi: I love the simplicity in your sketch. I could feel the culture come to life!

@Canaan: What I really like about your sketch is that I can see the movement within each of your concepts. Also admire the way you portrayed the two men playing chess, pretty cool, and it told a story. Also really liked the futuristic, more modern spin you took on the nomads.

@SevnthFloorArt: Interesting work! Really want to see where it goes.

@mayanew: Another intimidating piece, i really like the perspective in your sketch. I want to learn how to apply perspective to environments, your work made me want to try this out and stop being so safe.

@Kovah: Kovah those references you posted are amazing, thank you for posting them.

@Stuart-Gant: Cool beast sketches! Keep at it!

@GwynMcDeath: Really liking the masks, would love to see more.

@Nickscottart: Wondering which creatures you will end up using, they are all really interesting to look at.

@Mellon: The look of your sketch is over all pleasant to look at. So engaging.

@ceG: Absolutely smitten by your work. Beautiful.

@CJ_Marsh: Excited to see your rendered piece. Love your concept!

@Seikfour04: Those are some sturdy looking beasts, could definitely see them serving a purpose to their people!

@ttarget: I would love to see more! please? I like that you took notes on what you felt was important to keep in mind.

First time doing something like this and it's pretty fun thinking along a concept.
Here are some sketches I've done but I'm not sure wether to keep the futuristic air or think of something more 'Hobbit'-like.

Anyway, great ideas so far guys and
to FredyMartins: Your 2nd thumbnail is very dynamic - I like it - while the 4th one doesn't lack in perspective it wouldn't allow you to show much of your character, I think.

                            Default Kingdom Arran update

Radeaton; I was actually going to go for #3 but since you gave me your thoughts I decided to go with #1. It changed a little, tried to fix proportions and such but still based on your input. Thanks!

Mochi; Kind words, thank you keep it up you are doing good!

FredyMartins; for #1 is the guy standing in front of his catch? If so, it could be cool to break the silhouette with spears or whatever weapon they use to fish/hunt stuck in the animal, as if it was a fresh kill. You can also have someone kneeling beside it and cutting some meat off. Cool thumbnails nonetheless!

So here's an update to show some progress, I chose #1 from my earlier post; Are more sketches needed before moving on?

                              Default First Time...

                              Hey All!

This is my first time doing one of these, and I'm pretty new to this website in general, so bear with me here...

I was going to put up some thumbnails of my idea for this challenge, but I guess you have to have at least 1 post on the site before you can link images, so hopefully this counts?

By the way, everyone's stuff looks awesome, and I'm super excited to be a part of this!
