Liffey - Thank you kind sir! I love figure drawing, I would do it all day if I had someone to pose for me. ^_^

Soleil - Thank you! It's a weird process right now... I use a watercolor pencil to draw/paint out different shapes, only having a rough idea of what I want it to look like and making sure I do something different with the next blob. After it dries, I just let the shape "speak" to me, drawing what I see in the shape and also referencing different animals or concepts in my head (I'm usually away from a computer while doing these, so they really make me think!). I'm really inspired by Diablo 3 lately, along with the works of different artists like Anthony Jones. I hope this helps and I've also drawn out some more in this post! :3

I'm out of town right now, but I can't sleep! I left my tablet at home because I hate traveling with it since I'm scared it'll get damaged, and I really regret it because I have some freetime in the morning to draw. Luckily I've been giving my sketchbook some loving, and my parents have a really old scanner (it was my first one, hard to believe it still runs!), so I was able to scan in some pages.






Definitely learning by doing! So many little accidental discoveries just in these last few pages that I can't wait to apply for future sketches. :3 Especially working with color on a limited palette, gotta try doing that soon!

Hey guys, I have a special treat for you! At a friend's house today, she handed me some sculpty and I decided to sculpt one of my monster heads. I've already painted it but I don't have access to good lighting, so I'll make another update next week with it. Enjoy!

Okay, I'm feeling pretty sick today so I'm just going to copy and paste the ramble from my blog! @_@

Hello! I apologize for the silence on here - it's not intentional!

My wrist and shoulder have been feeling much better, but my attitude and ego have not. It's been a stressful couple of months and these past few weeks have been extra taxing on me due to working so much at my day job (which always makes my hand and shoulders hurt, then makes me mega frustrated and depressed). I'm happy to report that I put in my two weeks notice on Monday and by the end of the month I will be unemployed - but free from the world of retail!
The plan is this: The same week I work my last day at my job is the same week I'll be going out of town to the countryside of Ohio, and I plan on just leaving my laptop at home to get a breather from all my external stresses here and truly relax. When I come back, I want to whip myself and my work into shape. I have a schedule set up where I'll study three hours in the morning and then do four hours of portfolio work. The idea is to have some images to show off at Workshop SF 2012 and hopefully get some pointers on getting some freelance jobs. What happens after the workshop, I haven't a clue, but I just want to keep it like that and adjust when the time comes.

I welcome any cheers of support and some slaps on the wrist if I stray too far from my goals. I post here because it helps not only let others see my progress or hurdles, but allows me to see how far I've come. And having voids between posts doesn't show much progress.

For here, I am going to UPDATE EVERYDAY STARTING JULY 6th! I aim to keep doing so until the workshop and then go back to either weekly or do updates twice a week. I've strayed too far from this amazing community and I really need to get back in the game if I want to be a pro at this!

I'm pretty tired, so much going on this week and weekend, aah. I can't wait to be in the middle of no where for a week.
