Hey everyone, more sculpture progress. I ran out of cotton today so I am taking a break from it until tomorrow, for now this is what I have. Finally I can see past the stick figure wire frame, I couldn't stop thinking my dragon was suffering from a severe case of malnutrition.

Hey Brynn! Thank you so much, I always appreciate it.

Anyways, this weekend I decided to play with Zbrush for the second time in my life and choose to sculpt this guy's head:

Which came out like this:

It was a lot of fun to do, I learned a lot and overall I liked how it came out, but damn, there is so much more to learn.

Anyways, thank you all for looking and I hope you all enjoy!

    Hey everyone!

@ Zentrope - Ha ha, thank you very much! I wish I was good enough for the 3D challenges, I suck at Zbrush too much right now to even consider entering one of those. :C

@ Soleil - Hey Soleil, welcome to my sketchbook and I appreciate the kind comments!

Anyways, my progress on my sculpt. Now with a fluffy coat of fur and great hair to satisfy my inner dork. :B (Seriously though, it won't stay that way.)

Thanks for looking and I hope you all enjoy!

One more for tonight that I forgot to post earlier. This was a commission done of an anthro character named Amethyst who loves Halloween. Different from my usual work, but I quite enjoyed it.

Goodness, your sculpture is turning out very awesome! I'm calling your bluff that you're a novice at this, hehe. How did you manage to back that giant beast, gah! What did you use for the eyes? Thanks for your progress shots, they're amazingly helpful.

Hey everyone! I have more progress shots to share of my sculpture, a long with a cat commission done for my mom's friend, which isn't all that interesting. :/

@ stace - Honestly, this is the first time I have ever undertaken something like this! It does help a lot to do bit of research and planning before getting started, but I can also say that simple intuition has helped with most of my decisions. To answer your questions, if you mean literally what I used to back it, just some thick aluminum armature wire bought from my local art store. The eyes are also done with Super Sculpey along with all those teeth, I just painted them with acrylic paint before I put them in the head. Glad you find my progress shots helpful! Here are some more!

So here's an update on my dragon dude, just adding lots of furry details now. So far I have the front half done, tomorrow I will undertake the back half. Looking at these photos it seems to be a little off on something, but I don't quite know what. A few hours off from working on it might help me figure it out.

      Also cat commission:

That's it for today, thanks everyone for looking and I hope you all enjoy!

You are welcome Stace! To answer your actual question, I just bent the wire in a shape and made it actually fit in my oven to bake it. I admit, it wasn't easy to get it in and out.

Hey everyone, I seriously have some terrible paintings to share with you all. I did them over the weekend to take a break from my sculpture guy, only to realize it was bad idea to go three weeks without painting anything in Photoshop. It's time to paint a lot more to break my bad and old habits. Yikes. :X

The two are related, the first is a study of a hairless bear that I wanted to use on the second painting I am sharing. The second painting is the same creature I have shown in previous posts which could have ended up being much better if I actually planned it out. Ha ha...haaa...:C

Anyways, thank you all for looking and I hope you all enjoy!

Hey everyone, more progress pictures of my dragon sculpt!

So today I started painting the head after finishing adding the fur to the body. I was thinking of condors, vultures, and the Bald Uakari when doing the head. So far I am liking it in real life, but again the pictures are saying something different. More work is defiantly needed until I am 100% happy with it. If anybody has any suggestions let me know! All critiques are welcome!
