Well,I think even though the black background can make your logo standout,but it doesn't fit the words,pool&bath.
So,I prefer the first one,simple and clear.

Ya amileduan, you're right, I didn't even think about that. But I guess it's best to have 2 different backgrounds anyway, depending on the website, business cards, etc..

The last one gets my vote. I think the logo pops a bit more on the darker background
