    MrBrown: Thanks, man.

Scorge: Thanks. Glad you think so.

I brought this month's figure drawing home with me to get the shadows filled in since it covers so much of the figure. I thought I'd get a quick scan of it so you can see what these drawings look like in early stages.

Lovely life drawings and the Gimp ninja looks dope! Only thing the front leg seems a little too long, other than that though awesome!

          Default Thanks

JacobJanerka: Thanks man. Carl Dobsky's figure drawing class has has been great and really helped to raise my personal standards. I was wondering about that leg too. I wasn't sure if it was a matter of it being too big in comparison to his foot in which case it would be an issue of Inconsistant foreshortening and not proportions. Either way, it's an easy fix.

          MrBrown: Thanks, man.

          More to come this weekend.

I love seeing the atelier drawings! It always mystifies me how you guys get such a well rendered image, so the progress photos are very enlightening.

Awesome character in the last post! I agree about that leg not being foreshortened properly. Remember that one of the forms need to be squished.

I'll be coming back for more!

                  kevin-: Thanks.

stace: Thanks. Atelier figure drawing is an exercise in patience. A year ago, if someone told me I had 24-60 hours to work on a figure drawing, I wouldn't have had clue what to do with myself after the first couple of hours.

Liffey: Thanks, man. I'm glad you think so.

Here's an update on that figure drawing. I brought it home to work on the values and finish as much of the grunt-work on it as possible over the weekend. This means blocking in the rest of the shadow values and cleaning up some of the transitions. This can all be done without the model present. The drawing itself is moving a little slow as the model was unable to attend two sessions.
