below is an email i recieved recently. its basically a rather sorry individual trying to extort money out of me and 'industria mechanica' a small company i have been working with. no self respecting 'so called' artist would do this, its totally f''''''''g low. please can i ask anyone who is tempted to buy this kit from the russian manufacturer not to. sorry to bother you with this but i know alot of you lovely people are fellow artists who im sure will totally understand my point here. thanks for your time,

What this guy is doing is theft and extortion and he should be banned/shunned for such underhanded actions. I can't fathom how someone could possibly think this is okay and wouldn't hurt his reputation in the community. 3D Printing your interpretation of someones concept for yourself only is gray-area enough, but trying to force the concept artist to pay you for it, while harming the real winner's chances of getting his design produced as a kit (and the 2D winner as box art for the kit) is definitely not. You should be ashamed of yourself.

As an Author and Illustrator I just can't imagine doing this to an artist I cherrish. If you want to be respected and have an awarded work one day, work first with honesty and respect of others who allow you to use their own work freely.
Your behavior sucks.
Did you heard about copyrights ? You should be ashamed.
Like everybody, we, Artists, have to pay bills and we live of our Art. If everybody acted like you, we could just not live.
