    @Kevin- : Thanks! I'm trying to work that contrast in.. I tried to go back to just values to start with but I've found I'm seemingly terrified of dark values/blacks so it's taking some extra work to get me to put them in! I will get there eventually!! I think it's something that'll help with my lighting a lot so hopefully it'll click soon with more more more practice. :]

      Put another hour into it because I wasn't so happy with some of it... I think the perspective is a bit wanky and the contrast could be bumped up some places and faded back in others...bring out the cliff edge that goes back into the forest perhaps but... eh, I'm proud of it for just now diving back into the environment paintings!

      The stream still irritates me some even though I tried to add some tiers to it ....probably the width of it needs to shrink more to show better depth. Yay to practice! And yay to little glowie fairies!

        Perspective definitely a bit goofy. Try setting up some grids to help.

        Also try circulating some other colors into the piece, right now it's overwhelmingly green.

            Oh and another general bit of advice, study form on very simple objects with simple single light source like cubes and spheres. when you master those try more complicated forms with more lights and work your way up. Humans are pretty complicated forms, it might be better to start with the basics and work towards the tough stuff

              Your portraits are awesome, loved the one of the calavera girl! Keep up the hard work, it's a lot of hard work to be able to draw every single day, I myself cannot afford the time to do so, but as long as you dedicate some time and, mos importantly, some love into your drawings, you will evolve very quickly, you have some great foundations to go from!
              Keep it up!

                @Amileduan: Thank you very much!!

                @Amaakir: I'm glad you like the portraits. I adore painting people so it's generally what I spend the most time doing.

                @Liffey: I will try work with more basic forms. I'd gone back to just paper and pencil to work on the shape of the human eye and the folds it elicits with the eyelid. I think it's helped but working with simple shapes is definitely helpful since it's basically the building blocks for everything.

                        Just some more pose/style studies... nothing special and they're pretty rough since I was trying to work really fast at them. I'm gonna slow down/add more to the next few so they don't look sloppy.

                              I know that hand on the bottom portrait's messed up...I'll spend more time on hands in the future. About an hour spent on each of them otherwise.
