    Study lighting. This looks flat because of how it's lit. A little creative fill lighting here and there could make this image really pop. Remember too, not every light has to be white.

        Art of lighting works along with Shading(materials).
        Using something like Lambert material(diffuse) will not enhance it's specularity.
        If you want to study lighting, experiment it in real life and try implementing it in your choice of 3D package.
        There is no fixed track to do a right thing in lighting and i would suggest to play with it.
        Tweak and play with settings and see the changes.
        If you still have problems then look over the internet about lighting.

          i think that the lighting with be enough to make this lovely machine to look like alive. I also want to create a 3d gundam and with this sample you create I will do a gundam also. thanks for this inspirational work.
