@ Ortheza: personally I like the transparent feel of the membrane, as it associate with creatures like jelly fish, something that light and "flowy", one suggestion though, I'd finish the none transparent part of the illustration first before coming back to the transparent bit.

As transparent object takes time to render, so in case you run out of time for the illlustration you can still make the transparent part of the image solid, but if you have the time, then just go for it ~
