Hey guys. just thought i'd share some of my works here on this part of CGHub. i hope you'll find them interesting and please feel free to drop a comment or two.

im gonna post the completed works i made from the WIP thread i have over at the 2D WIP section :-) so feel free to check that out too.

this first one is the Alien Army for the DJ: Soldier Boy.
good thing that there was no specification that the soldier/s have to be human hahaha. this is also my fourth take on using matte painting techniques on my workflow.

    Some excellent work here, Jan!
I love the second one, howd u get the texture on the rocks to be so realistic? Did u use some texturized custom brush or something?

        Default The Widow

what's up folks? just wanna share a recent piece i've finished after a long break from illustration (was doing my comic) anyway, i wanted to do a Silent Hill(or resident evil?)-inspired creature design...
basically, i was experimenting with colors which give off a dangerous intimacy feeling to the viewer. was also exercising some muscle sculpting and mechanical parts.

        anyway, hope you enjoy :-)

Default La Vie et La Mort

here's a new artwork i've just finished. basically i wanted to depict life and death using a bit of unconventional imagery. i thought that medical oddities are interesting especially siamese twins. this led me to the idea that the life and death are like twins who has opposite traits.

inspired by my heroes Joachim Luetke and Mideo Cruz.

          enjoy.

            Default Hallowed

            HALLOWED

            Holy, Consecrated, Revered.

one of my most favourite 'arty' pieces which has symbolic meanings attached to the elements in the image.

finally done with this rather somber piece. i love depicting machines which exhibit human qualities. i wanted to show a feeling of abandonment with this piece. was also experimenting with a different kind of approach to my coloring method which in my opinion turned out well. enjoy :-)

                Default After War

                here's a completed ilustration.

i wanted to depict a moody scene where the machines of war serve as a means of shelter. i love depicting images of contradicting things. as for this one, i think i did a good job of doing so. :-)

also, i learned how to use textures more effectively and how to make rain effects.

                hope you enjoy :-)

                        new work up :-)

felt like making a cyberpunk piece again, with influences by paul gerrard and joachim luetke.

                        enjoy!
