@kevin Thanks Kevin! these bigger illustrations are done at my third shift so it's hard to have some time to practice! And deviantnep skin swatch really helped a lot!
@rich4rt Thanks Rich4rt! This illustrations are part of a book, I don't like very much how the author wrote the story but I'm learning a lot! I'm not very happy with that corner yet..let's see if I can solve it tonight ![]() Kherns Hi Kherns! I changed the callibration again lol, I checked in other monitors and printed some things too. I hope its better, yaa it's really a PIA (never heard that acronym lol) I changed her face a little bit but took the headwear off when I changed her dress to white, but thanks for the feedback! I'll try to put it back! |

Thanks Amaakir!
I think my skin painting really evolved after I got DeviantNet skin swatch and some skin brushes too. It's amazing to discover how skin has so many colors and textures Well, subsurface scattering is about how the light travels thru objects, there are far more texts about it applied to 3d but there are few good texts about applied to painting. One of the best is Gurney Journey's http://gurneyjourney.blogspot.com.br...cattering.html ![]() well, the whole blog is awesome, one of the top 5 every artist should follow Daniel Maidman has a good text too http://danielmaidman.blogspot.com.br...cattering.html See how my studies doesn't have it? it's very opaque, well, one reason I think is that the photo lighting is very uniform. I need to research more how skin behaves on that kind of enviroment. I recently saw that Bourguereau painting's has this kind of light, but there are subtle colors in it. Download some high-res, you'll see! Edit: I just found an awesome example! ![]() Last edited by cerkvenik; 04-24-2012 at 06:32 PM. |

I really liked the first one face, very middle age feeling.
