Hey, guys, I'm sorry to hear this from all of you.
I wanted to try something a bit more related to art basics such as handling textures and basic storytelling in objects. My intention was to handle the challenges in a certain order, starting with human anatomy, art basics, animal anatomy, fantasy anatomy and back to human and so on... I'm sorry this is not as attractive as I thought it would be, I'll make sure we get back on the right tracks after this challenge Also, please make sure to visit the following link: http://cghub.com/forum/showthread.php?t=3277 Feel free to suggest your ideas and thoughts, as some of you may have allready noticed, I tend to be online as much as possible, so I'll make sure to read your suggestions and be sure I take your opinions very seriously, so you wont be overlooked. Thnxs again, guys Last edited by Amaakir; 03-28-2012 at 03:14 PM. |

Guys we lets go on with this challenge in hopes that next challenge would be as cool as the back anatomy.May be a subject in motion and draping fabrics. These are whats cool about anatomy and form drawing.Lets not stray into any fantasy.

So here I am checking the challenge's entries and... nothing??
I was surprised by the lack of enthusiasm of almost everyone. Any way, I still don't have enough time and I still don't work much on my illustration, but here's a very rough very early sketch of my idea... I'll be making many changes to this one in terms of almost everything, but the concept won't change that much, that's almost finished. No offense intended, but I hope this sketch helps getting some creativity and less whining to the thread. @Amaakir: Keep up the spirits and the good work man! |

@Virev: Hey man, great to see you on this!
I like the concept of your door, how about going a bit more extreme and add a lot more bodies to it? I imagine they would be embedded as part of the design of the door or am I wrong? When you get to render this, consider the following: I don't quite get the idea of whats on the doors sides, is it a wall of rock or is it some kind of fog? Work that a bit out, if its a rock wall, make sure to give it some nice hard edges and a corresponding texture, I find that the noise filter is good for creating that kind of texture if used correctly! Also, here are a couple of images you could get ideas for your textures: Not sure if you intend on going with a rusty door or a more, copper, kind of clean metal texture, but anyway, if you can create a couple of custom brushes out of these and add a layer of multiply to give the bones a real texture, I think it would help your illustration pop out a lot more! |

Very interesting challenge! Making textures and mixing up brushes is definitely something that I've wanted to try in GIMP, MyPaint or Artrage, any advice on methods to take is appreciated
-Virev: I like your start, has a lot of atmosphere Here's my rough- envisioning a water-temple like place with trickles of water leaking through windows and doors leading to mold, and a little established wetlands right outside of the door, which will be obliterated as our adventurers advance to the imprisoned boss... |

Hey guys
I'm Saran and I'm new to the boards, please do guide me along ![]() I agree with the guys who think its floating away from the anatomy. However, I like the idea of the door and the texture study very much. I will try to study anatomy with the door ![]() |
