been a tad busy with starting my new 2nd shift job as well as a 2nd job for extra money on the weekends so drawing is kind of below sleep right now which sucks cause I hate sleep but hope to post more this week guys, also speaking with several art schools in California and getting stoked about that trying to find which one will serve me the best, for my goal to one day be a professional concept artist and work on a major title. Trying to stay focused!!

CJ, hey what up! That last photo study of the girl is looking very clean, I like the value break down and accuracy. The one from your memory has some structural issues, remember to drop a line of symmetry, especially when you have a frontal view. I have noticed that it's very easy to get things slightly off on a frontal view, which leads to something not looking quite right. Keep pounding away though! You're kicking ass!

Hey guys been in one of those moods where the real world problems have been effecting my art and I hate it! I am trying my hardest to get out of these moods and use it as motivation to draw but here is a few studies I did today and some WIPS of a project I have been wanting to do for awhile now. I really want to do a Harley Quinn and Joker piece I love the characters, just some rough Ideas the Harley I drew in like 15mins so its terrible but I have some sketches in my real sketchbook I will upload hopefully tomorrow. But enough rambling, just need to try and stay motivated and push through my issues that have been bothering me!

CK- Thanks man its really awesome hearing that from you! Hopefully I can keep up with some more studies.

    Hey CJ!
Those last photo studies look pretty sweet, when going into memory, try building a loooot of construction lines first.
I always end up with this whole mess of scribbles with construction lines, I've found myself lost sometimes because of my own mess, maybe you should try doing some quick studies with basic construction lines, it helps a lot to master them
Also, I'm a huuuuuge fan of Joker and Harley Quinn, best couple of villains ever, I'm eager to see you do a finished illustration of Harley!
Cheers, mate, and keep up the good work! Don't let those bad vibes from get to you, it's admirable that you work so much and still find the time to work on your artwork, so don't give up!

Hey guys finally getting some extra time to paint for those who don't know I live in Kansas and we had some pretty terrible weather recently and my job is recovering from a tornado that hit the buildings so not sure how or when I will be going back to work but on a side note I have alot of free time to be working on my work! Anyways here is some studies from today. Another side note got my first new tattoo on my right forearm and its all still a little tender but anyways i am blabbering again :P....But I tired a different approach on the 30second drawings trying to get just the "skeleton" of the figure as best as I could and with as little lines as possible and then started taking more and more time trying to get little details after I did the 'skeletons' still got ALOT to learn

Amaakir- Hey thanks a ton man for the words of advice and for the visit! I have been meaning to do some loomis facial structure studies and get the guiding lines down, but I will definatly take those into consideration! Also I know what you mean about Harley and the Joker my most favorite comic couple ever, actually plan on getting a harley pin up tattoo eventually and I am playing with soooo many different ideas, want to do something that has not been seen with her.

That would be greeeeeat, man, I honestly don't like the Harley they used for the latest Batman games, maybe it's because I'm with love with Bruce Timm's original Harley, and it's a great idea for a tattoo, u should post it if u ever get it done!
Cheers, mate, and happy painting on ur free time!

Nice going with the studies, keep it up you can already see lots of progress. It's easy to get distracted with rendering, colour, specific designs or all the ideas that you want to realize but it is important and helpful in the beginning to really focus on the basics.
Check your proportions for example, you have a habit to draw the head too small (4th picture in your last post) If you feel unsure double check with reference all the time to improve the quality of your studying. Errors can also be learned by heart when you repeat them over and over again.

Amaakir- See I love that old one but I also like some aspects of the newer ones im trying to get a good middle ground with my design but I really want to pay a bit of an homage to the old harley

oni- thanks oni! I noticed that as well when I posted its a terrible habit of mine im really wanting to break, I have alot to learn Im trying to focus on heads in general for now kind of take baby steps into figure studies, and starting with females my weakest part seems like the best place to start.

small upload of a portrait of a friend of mine and something not really art related but my friends wanted me to make it for game of thrones :P

be careful with black it should be the last touch not the fundation. never use black in skintones. try to keep your tones in the mid area later add highlights and dark tones

@marc- thanks marc! Im trying to break the habbit of using straight black I started using an off dark grey, for sketching its a bad habbit im trying to break and so far its been a challenge.

Really hate myself for updating so long of a time frame but my day job( me living in kansas) got hit by a tornado and destroyed a few buildings and they have been keeping us extended hours and longer work days I seem to never have enough hours in the day to try and work on my art anymore its a little discouraging, I hate my day job so much but I try and use it as drive to better my art work and hone my skills. Still trying to get my finances underway so I can go to art school currently I am looking to move to LA not just for the school but also for the industry. Everyday I wish to live my dream of becoming a concept artist. Im trying to push myself as best as I can hopefully I can get finances all taken care of within 5-6months and will be underway but its those 5-6 months of working a dead end shit job that make it hard. But enough of me rambling here are only a few fem studies. I neeeeeeeed to do more work hopefully things with my day job cool down more and I can get some much needed rest and have an entire day of working on my art, again.

Crits/comments/encouragement good or bad is welcome!
