Thanks for commenting and sharing your thoughts about my process and art. Glad you see improvement since I started this SB.
The 0.something WIPs are just a way to number the steps of of the process with an image - I post sketches and WIPs as well as finished pieces in this thread. No figurative work though - they go in my "anatomy thread" in that part of the forum. I'll stop writing numbers and simply call it "latest update" instead if the version number causes confusion.
I agree and I do study basics regularly through sketching traditionally, doing master copies and the Bargue course etc. However I only post perhaps 10% of all the trad sketching/drawing I do.
The dragonheart WIP is just the start of an abstract improvisation, not even I know where it will go (probably nowhere as is often the case with this kind of experiments.
Concerning the damaged city for Operation:Terraform, it's going to be concept art for a game and is created in dialogue with the project leaders of the game. I'll make it as readable as they require it to be before considering it finished.
Your feedback would be even more valuable if you could be a bit more specific about particular weaknesses in certain images or in my process of making them. Preferably as seen in comparison with other works in the actual genre. I do prefer to start very abstract and then work towards a more understandable and detailed rendering, so I'm not surprised the initial stages of the process seem hard to read.
Would be interesting to hear if you think my finished portfolio pieces are "unreadable" as well. If so, in which ways?
Thanks, I wish you the same
