    Default Hello!

Hey everyone! I need a lot of practice, and this looks like a great way to get started. I started out trying to do the axe, and just hated the shape of it. Moved onto the bow, and everything has been falling into place since then (i think...). I'm a bit happier with the shield I'm settling on.

Admittedly, I started trying to do an earth/plant type weapon set/shape, and seem to have fallen into something more like a wind/lighting type shape. I'm going to keep refining the details, but here's the progress I made today.

    It's great joining you all!

starexai - really unique design! Looking forward to the rest of them.
      cptcrandall - Awesome.. just awesome.

Will post my initial designs once I get a hold of a scanner ( just moved country ) but here is my first pass on the sword that I managed with my mouse. Still want to clean up the hilt and water but going to move onto the other weapons.

Critiques very welcome, I consider myself very much a beginner .

Thank you very much Nat! My eyes were attracted to your design as
well! Could I suggest some darks in your piece to make the glow
contrast? I love the idea of the illumination! It's great!

I'm wanting to do a water element set and had the idea of a more steampunkish feel where the water is heated to make steam blades. The weapons will all have a glass container with water attached.
Would this be o.k or is it the same as ice?

That sounds like a very interesting idea. The left side of my brain is trying to figure out how that would work, the right side thinks it could be super badass!

Sounds awesome if you can pull it off

I've basically said no ice because its a bit standard. Water is more tricky but steam sounds like nice out the box thinking

natahnd-Thanks for the kind words mate! I still have to deliver on the other three...and a fire bow seems tricky!

As a crit, lock at some photos of fountains and how the water bounces around and splashes, and then try and paint your drops like that...takes practice, but you'll get it. a very cool idea though.

Thanks and cool......I came up with another idea so long for a just water element so I'l see which one Im having more fun with!

GillBates - Weeeeell elemental weapons are sort of magic based, generally. My idea was a glass container filled with water and soemthing similar to a kettles element that heats it up for steam. The blade section would really just be a steam jet that has a blade like appearance.

                Default Earth Elemental Set

Here's my Earth elemental weapon set, but I think I'll take the time and do a different element, because lots of people are doing earth weapons.
Let me know what you think.

Love the ax Robobobo, cant wait to see what the rest of the set looks like. The kraken was a great idea for water.

Link to a list of pre-modern weapons. Hopefully itll help bring in a little more variety into the core weapon design. Anything to hopefully veer some people off from standard straight swords, plain shortbows, basically hatchets, and all kite shields.

                      http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of...C3.A9e_weapons

Theres a lot of design varieties out there itll be nice to see them. And maybe to get some concepts outside of the req 4. A polearm/spear or 2 maybe a chain wep etc.

Anyways, I'll start helping with critiques later today, if anyone really wants me to rip into their ideas or help them come up with a few, just ask, I'm happy to help... also I'll need places to dump my excess ideas as I currently plan to work on a far larger armory collection in each of the elements.

                      Good Luck and Have Fun!

around my sword a bit. Please feel free to tell me what you think
about it! Kovah, What do you think about the new water droplets?
                          I updated the sword.
