Default Wacom, photoshop, Win7... Need help!

Hiya, I'm honestly all out of idea on why my Wacom is acting all weird, I've looked all over the internet for a cure, and tried every one of them that I could find, but none of them helped, so I'm hoping one of the fellow artist/illustrator here could lend me a hand...

    The problem:
Sometimes, PS'd fail to sense the pen pressure, it would register me as pushing my stylus down to full pressure even though my stylus is hovering over the tablet, it's quite annoying when I'm trying to work fast, but having to go back in history because of the random full pressure line/dot that this has caused...

    Solutions I have tried:
-Disabling hold & click on that stupid pen thing for Win7
-Uninstalling and reinstalling driver. I'm using the latest from Wacom.

I hope I described my problem clear enough, I'm... really bad at describing things... D:

Which Wacom tablet are you using (i guess you forgot to mention that )?
    Cintiq, Intuos or Bamboo?

It looks like you are using a Bamboo Fun tablet with touch sensitivity because i had the same issue with it first!

As always disable the touch feature and then use the pen (just a tip)!

Upgrade to the latest drivers available at the official website because drivers available with the pack are bit old.(main problem solver for me)

Increase the double click distance (if necesary) and use it for a day and so and it was fine after that !

Never had any such problems with my Intuos though!

      I'm using Intuos 3.

Hmm.. If you're not having any problems with Intuos though...this doesn't make any sense to me... D:

Yeah, been using my Mac for PS until recently, so I had never encountered anything like this until recently... D:

      Thanks for the help though.

So this means that you started working with a PC(win7) and you encountered with a problem.

So first of all do a clean installation of your system drivers with all latest releases!(From DirectX , Video drivers, MoBo drivers etc!)

Always Use the same USB port during which you installed the Wacom drivers!
Switching between the USB port causes some issues.

And the main thing is that connect it to a USB 2.0 or 3.0 not on the USB 1 or a USB Hub shared with other devices!

      and restart frequently!

If this thing persists then try it on your friends PC who also uses the Intuos!

      Don't use the latest driver.

I'm using pro616-7_int.exe and it works fine, installing anything newer messes up the pen pressure like you said in your post. Though I have an intuos 2.

      @Kovah....it's not like that ...
616-7 was released in the year 2010(Nov-Dec)

Many people are using the 617-3 drivers which was released on September 2011 without facing any problems(including me).

The Latest one 620-w5 was released on January 25th 2012, can have some issues because it's new but they(WaCOM) can release a fix if it's like that!

Stating that "new drivers messes up things" points out that Wacom as a company haven't worked for over 2years on it's drivers!

I tried every single driver from the newest going back until I got to the one I'm using and had the same trouble as the original poster. Newer drivers might work for some people but on my system the pressure sensitivity doesn't work. As the OP said he had tried the new drivers I was simply offering a fix that I have found worked. Having tried everything you said in your post before i started going to earlier drivers.

As for Wacom working on things, there is a known bug with the bamboo pen and touch (which i have as my spare tablet) that doesn't work at all with Win 7 + Photoshop without the tracking messing up and if you fix the tracking you loose the pressure sensitivity. Which was over 2 years ago that I got my bamboo and it still has not been addressed or fixed!

So yes new drivers might be officially better, they might fix bugs but they do not work for every system all the time.

        @Lokileong ..Good to hear that!

@Kovah... we could have discussed this but anyway the problem is solved and there are many things about technology that is confusing.

for eg:- For some, Banging their Tablet or TV onto something may work but it might not work for all !

And for instance, i have tried Nylon wire found in grass trimmer as my Intuos Nib which worked absolutely fine but i will not recommend it to everybody.
And BTW, it is somehow approved as well!

So that is why i call them as MEAN MACHINES....They will do what they like to do!
