So, here I am! First post on CGHUB and I have to say I'm a little scared of the quality of the works around here! But I'll do my best! and let's see what happens...

I completely agree with you, the quality is pretty intense here. This challenge is my first one too. The nice thing about it though is that everyone's thread drives me to do better.

Not to mention, Adrian Smith's concept is pretty difficult too.

Can't wait to see your updates!

So... here i am with my first WIP.

It's still more an anatomy study then a real attempt to model the final character... I intend to make the muscles smoother later, but for now I like to see where each one of them is coming through...

It was hard to decide whether to make a retopology for this model or not, as I won't have to rig it. But things like posing the character will be so much easier that I decided to do it! and here is the result:

now with the model cleaner and lighter it's time for detailing!

Hey, man!
Good stuff. There's a little bit of an issue with proportions of a girl. Arms are too short. Wrist should align with a crotch area and hands should be about the length of the head.
Also move knees a bit up too!
Keep it up!

First of all, thanks for the tips!!

Her proportions were really strange... I've changed them a little, (not only the arms, in fact, the whole body was strange...) and here is the result for now:

So, what do you think? I've reworked on her main shapes (face and body) trying to make she look more natural and to make her look more like Adrian's drawing... I'm still not 100% happy with the result, but I will leave her like that for now.. there is still lots of things left to model...

It's getting there, man!
The only problem with the face i'm having is eyes. They are a bit too big and could use more details. Here's a good reference!

Also I'm still having a problem with her arms. They might be a bit thin and hands could be bigger.

Also if you move the knees a bit higher, it should make you happier!
