Star Wars Redesign.

Deadline: 5th of September 2011 at noon GMT
Extension : Due 12 of september 2011 at Noon

The Star Wars Movies are classics - Well, Most of them. But what if you were asked to be one of the original artists who came up with the concepts for the movies? Would the Millennium Falcon actually look like a bird or Darth Vader wear blue. Redesign something from *any* of the movies. Have fun folks.

Sounds like a good challenge. I'm still floating around some ideas myself, but I like the much cliched steam punk versioning of, well anything and am considering going that route. Time is short so I'll just figure out a composition next.

Ok so im taking this back to japan/china.... i really did not wanna show anything yet cause im struggling with this but whats the point of that right??? so i wanna keep the simple but layered clothing of the jedis at the same time give an oriental look....with the hakamas and stuff... anyways this is just a smal sketch... CC welcome please.

I thought I would like to do a female version of Han Solo which will allow me to draw some girls. This might get totally redrawn but I thought it would be a good move to get engaged early on - these challenges are great fun!

I always like the "Alternate" takes that you get on comic book characters over the years, like the ultimates where you still had spider-man,x-men, Iron man etc but in slightly different forms.

I find it interesting as to what people can come up with using the same base Idea.

I'll become more powerful than you can possibly imagine.

I always wondered about Obi Wan. He's a general exiled after years fighting in a war. A master of his craft...and suprisingly weak in the films. So with a bit more badassery I'm making a start on this. Little things like upping the decorative motifs on the robes to be indicative of rising through the Jedi knights, with a similar tattoo indicating his own path all along his arm. Much as I love the existing lightsabers, swashbuckling in space needs more of a cutlass-y feel. His arm thingy is lined with dog tags from victims in the war, though it could be seen as a mark of respect for the dead (like the blood that's on his hands) more than as trophies of battles won.

Been enjoying this so far, hope I get time to see it through to the end. Comments and crits welcome of course

heres my contributiion to the challenge. these are thmnails. doubt that it will be finished on time but i will work extra hard to see it thru.

pretty much it's a Leia pinup of her in a "Han shot first" T-shirt.

chose my thumbnail to work from and so far it's coming along and i will paint extra hard to make sure it's in on time.
