Default What are the best CG Schools?

What are the top rated CG Schools these days? The ones whose students get the most jobs in the industry after graduation?

I'm not sure what the "top rated" cg schools are, but quite a few of my art friends currently go to or graduated from Sheridan in the Toronto area of Canada.

And they're all really great at CG.

Hm, I suppose over in the states it is much easier to find schooling for digital art, here in germany that is still rather rare. We have the games academy from which I read good stuff and heard bad stuff, we have the SAE, to which I go, but where you do mostly camera / editing, and which isn't really all that great, and we had the german filmschool, from which I've seen awesome shorts, but for which financial support from the state was quit, and it now has to close its doors....awesome, isn't it? =/

So for me it is teaching myself

Sheridans are a cult of amazing artists, it seems xD MUST. GET. IN.

I was looking at whether they'd have exchange programs, because I'd love to go for a year or so, ;o;~ but I'm not sure they do, considering I'm in the states.

Im going to start at Gnomon this september. Its a very cool school right in the middle of the industry (Hollywood) with all teachers from the profession.. I hope its as good as the rumors because it is expensive :P haha

Oooh, gnomon has a school school? That is awesome. I knew about their dvds and workshops, but not about a school. Well, if they pick their teachers as well as with the dvds, then whew, you're quite lucky

I've been considering going to Sheridan next year.

OCAD in Toronto is supposed to be another really good school. The only person I know who went there got great results from it but hasn't had any success finding a job since graduating.

I don't know how it is, but like ProdigyBombay, I have a few friends in art school. The ones who seem to be getting the best results are going to School of Visual Arts in NYC and Ringing College of Art and Design in Sarasota, FL.

yea i went to check out gnomon, their school is really customized. alot different compared to what we have here in singapore. you can go there for a full 21month term or like 3 months and pick whatever courses you want and they have the hardcore ones that they squeeze into a couple of weeks for advanced people in 3d and stuff.

the school i goto is based on the same system as sheridan i think, they have this lecturer that comes over to teach drawing for 5 weeks every year and hes awesomee. but i heard that sheridan's niche is in animation and its really hard to get in and all :O
