    Default IdanI - Ares

hey, so I'm officially in this... much like everybody else I am a Zbrush user. I downloaded the trial and played around with the UI for the past couple of days and I must say it is much simple than Zbrush. I've seen a few legs one you go past 5mil but I guess its cause Mudbox uses your Video card GPU where as Zbrush uses you RAM.

I'm really excited for this and it should be a great challenge, I've already seen a few familiar talented artists enter this so Good Luck to all

Think the difference is rather that mudbox is designed for scalability (loooots of ram can be used), while Z-Brush is optimized for the standard 4 Gig home computer... like mine

Nice Monster in the portfolio btw. !

      Good Luck to you too!

thanks man Im pretty sure its the GPU ram in your video Card, The creature in my portfolio was made in Zbrush and it has 15 million polys and I hardly have any lags at all.

thanks again and more to come soon!

Alright.. so I managed to free some time and after making a few sketches I decided to go for a fat gladiator type... I'm not sure if I wanna go with a humanoid face or some type of troll, orc, etc. still sketching and will have something up over the next few days.

alright so My weekend is totally free from any work/school work so its time to get cracking. here is the Image references, I want to go with a 300/gladiator movie type atmosphere. hope you like the idea, the helmet is already finished, and I will post a short image making of, of how I went from a simple basemesh to a sketch in mudbox and than back to 3ds max for retopoligizing.

            Regards,
            Idan

here is the helmet, the highres is going to be much more interested, I wanted it to be special since he wont have a face because of all the scars he sustained previously. rest assure I'm going to go crazy on the design once I unwrap everything. hope you like, ps. I am going to put feathers on top.

              thanks for watching
