Since this is my first post, I will start by introducing myself. I am 16 years old, and i've been toying around with 3D software for about 4 years now (with long breaks here and there), because I'd really like to get into game designing later on. But for now I keep it at practicing, and I still have alot to learn. I am currently using Blender3D since it's free, and quite powerful for what I've heard.
The last few months I've decided I could give a game character a try, and this is the result:
(I'm sorry for bad image quality, I am not a pro renderer or editor or anything)
Now I'm planning on using normal maps for facial detail (even though it's covered by the helm and beard), which is going fairly well.
However, if anyone has a very explicit tutorial for me on how texturework is done (I mean advanced texture work, for details etc. Don't need to have normal mapping included) I would be very very very very happy to get a link or anything from that person, because I still know very little on this area.
I hope this post is the first of many, and that I may learn during my stay on these forums
