NEW WORLD :: MONASTERY

We recently got a new task for a new "movie" coming up.
This is set in ancient times where mankind devotes for perfection.
This place is a place of training, peace and soul searching
This place is a monastery.

GO FORTH AND CREATE. POST YOUR WIPS.

DEADLINE: MAY 27

3D is acceptable. We want to see some architecture on this as well.

I've changed the placement of the structures multiple times now, still trying to figure out a good spot for them, I think I've got some major editing to do. For one, the monastery seems like a side note, and that the environment itself is the focus, need to bring to the level of being a focal point. Trying to calibrate colors for my monitor at school, and now this image looks too yellow on my laptop... If anyone else sees this as just almost pure yellow, please tell me.

@CJ - Thanks man for the comments! Great start! I like that your developing the idea of an interior monastery... not really sure still if its water on the bottom! keep it up!

@horus - hey man good stuff! yah definitely it has a better atmosphere. Ill probably add a really nice orange sunset light on some areas to make them pop and make some contrast. cool stuff keep it up

@vladimir - looking good man! i like the slight angle on the horizon line and how it looks like there might be a storm coming. keep working on the values.

@kronso - hey man thats looking great..... lighting and atmosphere looks very nice. Cant wait for final!

Here is my first sketch. A place where architecture was inspired by a man himself and integrated deeply into environment. This mankind/nature monastery is for those who seek total concentration on what they are doing and to get positive energy.

A tree is growing on the "dome" glass and collecting energy from the nature which passes throught trunk to the roots and goes to monks which are training or meditating. (will visualise this with colors.

Also few stoned titans which holding true life - woman with water blah blah..

hey sorry for lack of participation I kind of got...."sidetracked" lets just say dont buy diablo 3....anyways heres a small update, @kovah thanks for the paintover! I changed a few things and have a solid spot so I can now start rendering everything out hopefully I have enough time!

Bringing details to life. Still not sure about background, if I have some time tomorrow I will remake it to something more interesting, but it will be my last evening, so I'm not sure about it

Hey guys just wanted to share some words here with you guys.
Remember that the purpose of this challenges is for us to challenge us as artists but at the same time encourage each other and get to know each other. There is more value to that than a badge if you actually "win"
You guys have support this round very well.
Lets stay hungry and keep it up!
