Default Veneq's epic journey of self discovery

Hello! I've been lurking here once in a while for some time and figured I should jump into the fray and start posting some stuff. I've been on ConceptArt for sometime.

To get this sketchbook started, here's some recent stuff from my CA sketchbook.

Pretty much in order starting with the oldest.
    Studies:

    And some Sargent master studies:

And here are some pieces I've been working on in the last few months - mostly just WIP things - again ordered with the oldest first.

My CHOW stuff from this week - my first challenge entry on CA. Time to start getting my hands dirty in some CGHub challenges as well.

And a sketch for fun - practicing drawing from imagination without photo reference

Sort of a photo study of Kemp Remillard from the photo shown during his Crimson Conversation:

And here's how the CHOW came out... I wish I could've put a little more time into it.

Great sketchbook, you seem to be progressing along nicely , the character thumbnail silhouettes are really good, the CHOW seems a little bit dark on my monitor though in certain places, like on the chains, you're losing a bit of nice detail because of it. solid piece. Keep up the hard work!

HEHATEME Is your username a shout out to good ol' Rod Smart from the XFL?!? Awesome! Thanks for the kind words!

johnhopkins It's not just your monitor. That thing came out way too dark. I'll definitely be going back to that image as soon as I get a chance and giving it a proper finishing. And thanks for the kind words!

Ew what a terrible way to start off page 2 (a post with talking only) - laaame.

Soo let's fix this. I told myself I wasn't going to post WIP images anymore, but the aforementioned travesty cannot stand.

Here is my interpretation of Molly Millions from William Gibson's Sprawl Series.

Cool stuff here! You seem to have a good understanding of form and value. What I think you could improve though is that at least in your non-referenced work you seem to loose focus on the materials and everything ends up having the same quality to them ie. hair looks the same as clothing. You've gotten better at this lately but still something to consider

Keep on going! You're on the right track.
