Here is a progress WIP, my final, and inspiration. The link is to my animation final, which I based my illustration on. Basically, a Gypsy's ghost/deer/cat thing brings her a dead rat and throws it into the pot (Romanian Gyspy-esque). As you can see, I never finished it:

I wanted to expand on the white faced animal spirit character while keeping the same color mood as the animated short. The witch character is quite similar too.
Princess Mononoke (i think?) has that demon in it with the dark squiggle worms coming out of it, which spikytiger just nailed in their illustration. I tried to capture that squiggle worm aesthetic a bit with my white faced smoke character.

edit: oops, my .gif is accidentally a bit out of order and is missing a layer. But basically you can see I'm just playing with it and didn't really map out my plan. That's probably why I spent as much time as I did with it... I need a more efficient method...
